  • we saw the kiwi army perform a haka in Iraq for an american delegation. It was the most amazing thing id ever seen!!

  • @munkee509 We have no troops in Iraq anymore. It would have been Afghanistan at the NZPRT.

  • i dont like how the whitre guy in the center of the video ruins the haka by making the moves "sexy"

  • Toa!

  • @ NZMeathead it would be ignorant of me to say their bloodlines were 100% Maori but it is obvious that they identified themselves that way otherwise they would not have been in the Maori Battalion. Don't want to fight with you. I'm just proud of the Maori Battalion and all the good they did. As anyone would be proud of the good things that someone has done in their own race. All mankind.

  • Pity they can't shoot for shit or stay awake on stag.

  • @SlavicImperial you are a discrease to the Slavs, COMRADE

  • @Livin4Lif3 So they were all 100% maori? not half cast etc, an their NCO's etc for the battalions were pakehas anyway.

  • @Livin4Lif3 So they were all 100% maori? not half cast etc, an their NCO's etc for the platoons an units were pakehas anyway.

  • 'give me the maori battalion and i will conquor the world'

  • yupp, combination of great fighters.

  • Tu Meke to you all! Especially you white warriors!! Its all about respect, and team work. No such thing as just' a haka as it carries a lot of history reflecting united manhood . Tapu, mauri and noa. God Bless!

  • I LOVE the fact that the NZ army carries forward the Maori/Polynesian tradition! GO ON!

  • well like or hate the haka, its a a cultural tradition thats i for one have nothing against. however, tradition is the operative word, as the haka dont stop bullits so the chances of scaring the guys with guns is... well just reundant really.

Still its excelent that the NZ people keep there traditions when so many othere are losing there own.

  • As a matter of fact...during the world war 2, the 28th Maori battalion has scared off the enemy force(German) with a chilling haka. But tyanks for your comment, I appreciated someone like you could see some possitive view on this.

  • I respect Ihoodlums comments, I would die for the British Queen and country and Im new zealander, my fore fathers died for their land and im willing to aswell

Long Live Britian and The Commonwealth!

  • and New zealand is a nice place to live, in some parts, there is alot of country side and most of oou biggest city has only 1 million people, Wellington about 750,000 and Christchurch, probly perhaps under 400,000 people but the rest of cities are under or just over 100,000

  • Says its strange when you have some big maori guy doing that is shit scary espicially when you owe him money

    (im not Racist)

  • Fuck this is l337( I hate wearing SDARS)

  • Jake the Muss would take the whole lot out without even spilling his beer!

    Top dogs man, top dogs.

    Morningside for life!

  • was the person holding the camera also performing the haka?

  • this is pure ownage by our guys woot for the nz army!!!

  • ''pure ownage'' Lol w.e you say It looks weird but i guess its apart of your 'culture' or something

anyway i like the NZ ARMY but com on lol this is deaaaaaad strange and i cant take it seriously lol.

  • :P

the haka was originally used by the maori before their battles against the british to scare them and now its tradition for our guys to do it in their graduation parade =) u gotta admit its pretty cool and unique

  • Before the battles? lol if we fought with swords back then then i can beleave it..

and this does not scare me lol British soldiers running towards you with fixed bayonets would scare anyone lol

and Yeah i guess its good because its your culture and when their speaking in this what language are they shouting?

and are u from NZ? if so whats it like to live their

  • Imagine if u were a british guy in the nz land wars back in the 1800's and u hear thousands of warriors doing this through the mist ..it would scare me lol. they shouting in maori, native new zealand language and yeah im a kiwi i love it here, beach, bbq's and everything lol =) ty for invite, just accepted

  • No i would not be scared because.. I am a british soldier, and a warrior, i will train hard, fight hard and think hard, i will do so with courage, i will fight for my comrades, my queen and my commanders, and i will do so with pride, i will defeat the enemy through me professionalism and skill,

  • The british thought the bayonet was the best CQC weapon around untill they came against maori bearing the Taiaha

  • @weemaori

got that from "once were Warriors" right? ;)

  • @raggakakka Its true fact though. These who fought against them wrote it multiple times in their diaries

  • and i will do so with self-discipline, i will earn the trust and respect of fellow warriors, and i will do so with honourable actions. I will lead and mentor all those who fight with me, and will serve them with integrity and commitment, i will overcome adversity and fear, and will help others to do so. i will never forget those who have gone before me. I will always be a british soldier.

  • and your country sounds great but dunno what its like to live their... i looked on google earth and it looks mostly green and countryside??

  • um ok....lol its not like britain and nz are gonna break alliances or anything, so you guys shouldn't be scared anyway cause ur on our side lol =) evil pplz should be scared. and yeah its mostly farmland and everything but its not boring, nice lil towns by the beach with shops and everything lol =)

  • @IHoodlum

It appeals to those of us with a Scottish background as well, because in Scotland our families lived with a similar clan / iwi like culture, many Pakeha in NZ embrace the Maori culture side of life and participate with the same amount of pride. The language is Maori, a useful language in Indian country, and far off hostile bars :-) (I imagine)

  • NZ DF are considered the best jungle warfare fighters in the world

  • lol "once we're warriors"

  • New Zealand army is going to win a war between them and China through the medium of a dance off.

  • fuk yeah this shit rocks!!!!

  • GET SOME!!

  • The haka is traditionally used before you battle to show how strong and staunch you are-this is before the guns so you obviously wouldnt do it nowadays-the reason women dont do it is because women dont go to battle they stay at home. but on that note if they need to defend there children and house they will

  • i wonder if they actually do the haka in combat

  • if you want to get shot and let the enemy no where you are i suppose. but its ok to ask

  • Ka-mate!, Ka-ma'*pew!*... That would've happened I think...

  • they do this befor they start figting to scare there oposition

  • They used to back in WW2 and those wars fought earlier

  • in a few years time i will be commanding an company of 29 new zealand soldiers! GO NEW ZEALAND!!!

  • there females doing the haka, mostly the supporting type and other types of haka.

i'm am in the Marine Corps. and i have respect for all the military services.

    PFC. Maka.

  • what you sayin the haka for freeks?

  • Yawn.

Why is it we always get dragged into something we didnt effing start ?

It isnt brits sneering chuckles - it's "friendly fire" yanks.

  • get a life cherries disn each other over a march out?

  • wow dude you're not a sniper with that camera haha

  • NZ army actually have one of the highest deployment rates out of any military force. due to its size, and the amount that are currently abroad. and seeing as the NZ army are aparently looking at a peace ENFORCING role abroad it looks like they will be deployed in alot more "hotspots" around the world.

the NZ army is Extremely well trained

Also i dont see any videos of kiwis blowing up washing machines with grenades on youtube.

Proves they got a bit of brains eh? lol

  • In both world wars us kiwis were putting our blood in the mud before you Yanks showed up or even figured out which side you were on. WW1 you turn up at the last minute. WW2 yo roll up half way thru cos even sitting on the fence you got attacked.

  • Absolutely right mate.

Brits and Anzacs went where the blood and guts were while the yanks profiteered in WW1 & 2

They're doing it now with Iraqi oil, and expecting us to help them do it.

And when we DO they manage "friendly fire" when other nations don't.

    Loudmouth sh*tbags.

  • well ur obviously helping arent u? so be pissed at urself dumbass...and we did fight in both ww1 and ww2 and we did help a big part....there would be no way in FUCKING HELL that the british alone could take normandy..so thank the americans for securing it for yas asshole...btw we lost over 5,000 that day and over 80,000 for the whole war so fuck u asshole..u werent alive then and u have no say u disrespectful piece of shit

  • Yeah I am from NZ, I learnt that in history class japanese were sending ships over to us

But luckily you guys intercepted it so we actually need to thank you guys.

  • wow, do I live under a rock or what! had no idea new zealand had a military! I love the haka though! it's amazing seeing the all blacks perform it!

  • Its a defense force

  • mine was heaps differnt.i marched out 348

  • nati tumatauenga!

  • As an Englishman, I have nothing but admiration for both The Kiwi's and The Aussies! When the yanks where dithering about WWI & WWII they (and many others too!) were over here fighting anbd dying for 'The Old Country' - sorry we shat on you regarding Europe guys, that was that tw*t Edward Heath and his muppets! Don't go republican on us and maybe, just maybe, one day we can all show the rest of the world what true patriotism is all about. Bless you all. :-)

  • No worries mate. Anytime. Except Iraq. But we will trade you that one for Vietnam.....

  • Shut the fuk idiot New Zealnd has one of the best SAS forces in the world so i wouldn't say shit

  • best sas my shit yew homo, my ass alone is way bettr than yewr sas. all it takes is for US to send 2 jet fighter to yewr cuntry n yew be shitting yewr panties.

  • Go to a corner and die you asshole. F U

  • little known fact, Kiwis fought alongside US Marines in Vietnam. The VC were scared shit-less of the Kiwis and absolutely refused to face them on combat because the Kiwis would mount screaming fixed-bayonet charges in the face of vastly superior numbers, something the Vietnamese had never seen. My father was a Marine and he has told me that he knows Marines who were scared of them too, they were just insanely fierce warriors.

  • The kill death Ratio of Vietnam against the kiwis taught to the VC were 15:1

  • that's sick..

  • lmfao ahahahahahaha wat an ahole....but love it lolz

    this is a mean haka!

  • kiwis are amongst the best in the world. Aint got the best kit, aint got the most money for war, but, this is the youngblood pal, and they got your attention, didnt they, ha!

  • sucker

  • I just marched out 348 and we did the same haka. we also did another one before that.

    good job boys :D

  • Most Polynesian rugby teams also perform their own Haka, plenty of that on youtube, just enter Tonga, Fiji, Somoa Haka

  • American soldiers don't do a haka.

  • you should do a search for it on here and on the net.

  • I haven't found anything. If you have a website or a video, show me a link, please.

  • if US haka is so great, then how come they arent even saying real words or doing real actions?

just shouting and slapping themselves. not real haka

  • US cant have a haka, its more a tribal dance or something along those lines. they shouldnt call it a haka.

  • yeah they do, there's no chanting or moves involved though, you just grab a rifle and shoot the nearest allie

  • Mean Maori Mean! i got a good copy of this haka check it out kuzzy

  • Yep, she's a mean haka, liked the reply from the crowd, and it aint as shaky a video as the one on my account...but my nephew can be forgiven, he was real close!

I went there in April 08, nice place so green.

  • to bad others cant be like NZ

  • Aye, I liked NZ as a Country and the People, but I am still an Englishman first, I don't know if I will ever emigrate but I am happy to visit.

  • i respect NZ da haka will make outsiders shit them selves

  • all i have to say is im pretty sure the new zealand army is the fkn shit!!

  • I think you got that wrong NZ and South Sea island people are TRUE WARRIORS

  • I totally agree. If you don't know what they go through - don't diss it. It was the hardest time in my life and I never EVER want to relive it, but I'm happy I did it, matched out and stuck around long enough to say I'm "Ex Army"! LOL!

  • mean!!

  • yeah thanks for explaining, but sont get to hard on greekhero16 he did not knew it before and he is my friend. its my fault cuz I always showed him rugby haka.

  • GobbleStabler did maori fought in ww2 ????

  • each formed from a differant tribe on the island. A Company was from the Far North and called Nga Kiri Kapia, (The Gumdiggers) B Company was from Central North Island and was called Nga Rukukapa (The Penny Divers) C Company was from the East Coast, and called Nga Kaupoi (The Cowboys) D Company was a mixed unit of South Island Tribes, collectivly nicknamed Ngati Walkabout. The Battalion was basicaly an extra unit not specifcally assigned to any Brigade, they were used where they were needed.

  • Indeed Sir! Mind you, they fought under orders from the New Zealand Government, but they formed their own Battalion, the 28th (Maori) Battalion. It comprised four Companies,

  • But I do agree, the Haka the All Blacks perform is damned cool.

  • GreekHero16. Your a goddamn idiot. Im going to assume you dont know NZ Military tradition, or the history of the 28th (Maori) Battalion during WWII. A Haka is a form of wardance, in the 1800's (I believe) Maori warriors performed Haka just within earshot of British infantry to unnerve them. And did so in Eygypt, and Italy during WWII against German ANd Italians. Facial Tatoos and a crazy Warrior tradition makes for a hell of a sight buddy.

  • Haka is only cool with allblacks rugby

  • heh thats mad

  • "We are the All Blacks, of the New Zealand people."

"We stand on this field arrayed for battle."

"At our backs we feel the might of tradition wrought by those who have gone before."

"Over our hearts we bear the Silver Fern, emblem of mana to die for."

"This challenge is now thrown out to you. Take it if you dare for we will not withold ourselves this day and the faint of heart will surely be lost."

    Whiti te ra! Hi!

  • his is a very special award. All New Zealanders should be very proud of this SAS group," he said.

The last time a presidential unit citation was awarded to any country other than an American military unit was in 1966.

That also went to a New Zealand Army unit.

(this is for top of other one ma bad)

NZ SAS soldiers awarded rare presidential honour.

  • Actually the last time before that was in early 2004, to the Canadian JTF 2. The one in the 1960's (1968) was to D Company, 6th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment. In 1977 it was awarded to New Zealand's 161 Battery. Since the NZSAS recieved theirs there have been two others, to the Norwegian Navy's Marinejegerkommandoen and Army's Hærens Jegerkommando.

  • The citation said it was for "extraordinary heroism and outstanding performance of duty in action against the enemy in Afghanistan".

The citation was rarely awarded to American military units, let alone units outside the US, said American defence attache to New Zealand, navy captain Rick Martinez.

  • Awesome

  • fCUk yeh dat waz MEANNN !!

  • this is the the army depot Recruit haka

  • I bet half of you dnt know where the term yank comes from

  • didn't the british call the american militia yankee doodles, because they were a bit of a through together army, and were no match for the britz. oh well the british assumed this at their peril i suppose, coz from what i hear it was the yanks who had the last laugh.

  • you've never heard of Canada's snipers? Although we do not have the number, we have the best training in the world ( I have my sources :P), and what about the Isreali Masad, there UNREAL, United States Navy Seals, Russian Spetznaz.
