  • Thanks for posting this video. I posted a screen shot on my Ellington record labels pages, ht tp://ellingtonweb.ca/Hostedpag­es/DoojiCollection/.

    My discographies give conflicting dates for the Bluebird release. Some say it's take 3 (Aug 20) and others don't say which take it is, but just say Aug 26, which produced takes 4 and 6. Is the matrix number visible in the wax runoff?

  • Orighinally issued on Victor 23022 (b/w "Jungle Nights In Harlem"); this is a 1936 Bluebird reissue.

    Freddy Jenkins on trumpet and Johnny Hodges on soprano sax,not at all Whetsol and Bigard.
