I read lots of patriotical comments rather than rational opinions. Looks like Amanda was convicted guilty just because "she is an american", and "her Trial took place in Italy". Honestly, where is the evidence? What is the strongest piece of evidence they have to determine that it was Amanda who murdered Meredith? I think there is too much reasonable doubt here... I don't know anything about what kind of person she is, but there is just not enough physical evidence to know for a fact that she was the one who murdered her roommate.

Yeah... and I find it suspicious that there is plenty of guede's DNA to put him at the scene but only microscopic specs of RS and AK that are even considered inconclusive. Plus, the knife doesn't match the wound on MK's neck... relying on circumstantial evidence has ruined many innocent lives. Its a shame that this seems to be the case here...

I walked away with a very bad taste in my mouth about the police in Rome..that was in the '80's..I'm not going there anymore..don't like the atmosphere anymore..it's really too bad..Italy used to be my favorite place

For those of you who keep asking if she's innocent "then why did she accuse an innocent person?", it's because the Italian police forced her to make up stories by interrogating her for 12-14 hours. They made her falsely accuse Lumumba but when he had a solid alibi they just went with blaming her. They just want a quick resolution...at the expense of an innocent person.
There's no waterboarding in Italy, and even Knox doesn't claim that she was physically hit. (She said something like that initally, but it was just one of her back-and-forths, eventually she settled for "they pressured me only psychologically").
Think about it. Being kept awake doesn't justify accusing random people of murder. She wasn't even a suspect yet, only a witness, and she would have condemned an innocent man to jail for life?

Witnesses in Italy are not routinely subjected to that kind of pressures. Maybe suspects are, but not witnesses. And at that point she was only a witness.

Only innocent living people understand what 12-14 hours of yelling at by police officers could and would do to you. Especially somebody used to the American system. They would believe that once they get away from these corrupt officers and with a lawyer, they will prove they are innocent and go home. She was very naive, sadly. I really believe she thought she needed to do whatever to get away from those interrogators and into a lawyer's hands.
I'll explain: the police interrogated her for 12-14 hours and forced her to makeup stories. When people are berating you for hours on end you would tell them ANY story just to get out of there. They MADE her implicate Lumumba, but after having an air tight alibi they had to let go him go. Amanda is innocent. A lot of people here seem to not know how the police forced a confession out of her.

Amanda knox, her boyfriend and ofcourse Guede participated in the murder of Meredith. DNA tests prooved. Guede raped her, Amanda slit her throat with the knife that was found in her boyfriends house. Amanda's DNA was found on the handle and meredith's on the blade. The knife was washed with bleach,which very unusual. Amanda was also spotted with a knife in college. it is clear that 3 people participated in the murder. the three of them were also spotted running away.

I'm Italian and I tell you, Italian courts couldn't care less about the media because Italian prosecutors are not directly elected by the people so they don't have to be "popular". In the US the prosecutors are elected and that's why the American media and the public opinion affects the courts.

Theres a bloody footprint that matches Amandas shoe. You dont hear these facts on the American media because its coverage is shamefully biased in favor of the American girl.

It is only the people on the defence side who say the knife was not one of the murder weapons. There are forensic experts who say it was. Forensic experts say the wounds could only be inflicted by multiple assailants. The many instances of Knox's DNA mixed with Kercher's blood also count. How did Sollecito's DNA end on Kercher's bra? Also the fact that Knox and Sollecito changed their story many times, contradicted each other, and KNOX ACCUSED A RANDOM PERSON (Lumumba) who was PROVEN INNOCENT.

No, many (at least 5 that I have listened to) American DNA experts not on any side have concluded those same things..no DNA on knife blade (just blood trace, and not even enough to know if it is human), Guedde admitted shoe prints were all his..Sollecito's DNA got onto that clasp from the glove of the idiot forensic team who didn't pick it up with a tweezer..they had just handle items in another room with those same gloves..and we know Sollecito had been in that apartment before... ENOUGH!!

I read lots of patriotical comments rather than rational opinions. Looks like Amanda was convicted guilty just because "she is an american", and "her Trial took place in Italy". You people should realize that the victim was NOT italian but BRITISH, and the other two convicted guilty people in this trial, Amanda's boyfriend Raffaele and Rudy, are BOTH ITALIANS. So if judges in Italy were not fair, they would NOT have convicted guilty two of thier OWN citizens for murdering a BRITISH women...

i think the italian officals just wanted someone to point a fingure at. as do many people in this kinda of situation. its discusting that someone is in jail when the case had sooooo many flaws. Just the fact that she was interigated for over 24 hours stright, hit several times, and abused by the officals should be enough to have UN step in. its really a shame

Honestly, where is the evidence? What is the strongest piece of evidence they have to determine that it was Amanda who murdered Meredith? I think there is too much reasonable doubt here... I don't know anything about what kind of person she is, but there is just not enough physical evidence to know for a fact that she was the one who murdered her roommate.

Yeah... and I find it suspicious that there is plenty of guede's DNA to put him at the scene but only microscopic specs of RS and AK that are even considered inconclusive. Plus, the knife doesn't match the wound on MK's neck... relying on circumstantial evidence has ruined many innocent lives. Its a shame that this seems to be the case here...

I walked away with a very bad taste in my mouth about the police in Rome..that was in the '80's..I'm not going there anymore..don't like the atmosphere anymore..it's really too bad..Italy used to be my favorite place

I'm going to say this for the late time. For those of you who keep asking if she's innocent "then why did she accuse an innocent person?", it's because the Italian police forced her to make up stories by interrogating her for 12-14 hours. They made her falsely accuse Lumumba but when he had a solid alibi they just went with blaming her. They just want a quick resolution...at the expense of an innocent person.

There's no waterboarding in Italy, and even Knox doesn't claim that she was physically hit. (She said something like that initally, but it was just one of her back-and-forths, eventually she settled for "they pressured me only psychologically").
Think about it. Being kept awake doesn't justify accusing random people of murder. She wasn't even a suspect yet, only a witness, and she would have condemned an innocent man to jail for life?

Witnesses in Italy are not routinely subjected to that kind of pressures. Maybe suspects are, but not witnesses. And at that point she was only a witness.

Only innocent living people understand what 12-14 hours of yelling at by police officers could and would do to you. Especially somebody used to the American system. They would believe that once they get away from these corrupt officers and with a lawyer, they will prove they are innocent and go home. She was very naive, sadly. I'll explain: the police interrogated her for 12-14 hours and forced her to makeup stories. When people are berating you for hours on end you would tell them ANY story just to get out of there. They MADE her implicate Lumumba, but after having an air tight alibi they had to let go him go. Amanda is innocent. A lot of people here seem to not know how the police forced a confession out of her.

You are very correct, I wish more people who say "Amanda is innocent because there is not enough evidence" realized that regardless of the evidence, no sane person can believe in the innocence of one who changes her story every minute and accuses random innocent people.
Still, lack of hard evidence means that one must be acquitted even if she is obviously guilty as hell.

Amanda knox, her boyfriend and ofcourse Guede participated in the murder of Meredith. DNA tests prooved. Guede raped her, Amanda slit her throat with the knife that was found in her boyfriends house. Amanda's DNA was found on the handle and meredith's on the blade. The knife was washed with bleach,which very unusual. Amanda was also spotted with a knife in college. it is clear that 3 people participated in the murder. the three of them were also spotted running away.

In the US the prosecutors are elected and that's why the American media and the public opinion affects the courts.

There is PLENTY of evidence. There is plenty of Amandas and Raffaeles DNA at the crime scene, includine many samples of Amandas DNA mixed with Merediths blood, and a knife with Amandas DNA on the handle and Merediths on the blade. Theres a bloody footprint that matches Amandas shoe. You dont hear these facts on the American media because its coverage is shamefully biased in favor of the American girl.

It is only the people on the defence side who say the knife was not one of the murder weapons. There are forensic experts who say it was. Forensic experts say the wounds could only be inflicted by multiple assailants. The many instances of Knox's DNA mixed with Kercher's blood also count. How did Sollecito's DNA end on Kercher's bra? Also the fact that Knox and Sollecito changed their story many times, contradicted each other, and KNOX ACCUSED A RANDOM PERSON (Lumumba) who was PROVEN INNOCENT.

No, many (at least 5 that I have listened to) American DNA experts not on any side have concluded those same things..no DNA on knife blade (just blood trace, and not even enough to know if it is human), Guedde admitted shoe prints were all his..Sollecito's DNA got onto that clasp from the glove of the idiot forensic team who didn't pick it up with a tweezer..they had just handle items in another room with those same gloves..and we know Sollecito had been in that apartment before... Knox was able to describe the dead body of Kercher, before she could have possibly seen it. She and Sollecito were seen by witnesses with a mop cleaning up the place. They claimed they were at Sollecito's house on the Internet, but it was then proven that their computer was never used that night. And on and on with lies. Nobody can possibly believe her innocent. And there's no basis for claiming that she was accused only because American. Why was the Italian boy accused then?

She didn't try pinning it on someone else..she tried to get away from the police interrogation that did not last a mere 14 hours, as reported, it was 40 hours..I think I would want to try to get out of there too, believing that with an American attorney she would be ok..She new her boss had an airtight alibi and would be fine..not convicted or even jailed (as was the case)..give me a better reason to send her away for the rest of her life..please. I can't tell if she were guilty or not. And I can usually tell. I've seen innocent people sent to prison, and guilty people set free. But, this case kind of confused me..

I have watched every youtube video of her that I could find, over and over..I have never seen Amanda Knox smirk...I saw someone in shock..amazing the difference in what you can see when your eyes aren't wide shut!!!!

Instead of complaining about the verdict, Knox should be pleased she received an Italian-style, lenient sentence. In the UK she would have got at least 40 years in jail and in the USA she might have got the death penalty.
