I finished this game with level 71 for everyone with Butz as a Samurai, Cara as a Mystic Knight, Lenna as a Geomancer, and Faris as a Summoner. For the 2 final bosses, only one Gil Toss for each and BOOM! Too easy! LOL!! Magnificent game, however. Thanks, HCBailly!

I was wondering why Almagest was only taking off 700ish HP from your guys and twice that on mine. Then I realized you have Big Guard set up. I wish I had remembered Big Guard earlier, before I failed at this final battle a hundred times. Well, anyway, I got him. Nice LP this was. I don't think I would have been able to get through the game if it weren't for your strategies/tips on certain bosses.

Long ago I cheated and I berserked the tree Exdeath and he didn't go into his final form. I did this because I couldn't beat his neo-exdeath form lol

i took a look into ex-death and last part of the final battle. he doesn't have over 100k hp. the final part each part has about 50k hp. ex-death first part final battle has about 50k hp.

Proto babil has the most hp i ever seen a boss have. proto babil has 400k hp!!!!

Teamwork FTW, just like FF4. Warriors of Dawn + Warriors of Crystal vs ExDeath ... that's like nine on one. Too bad villians can't get it into their heads to combine their forces like this in a single attack.

Huh?! Somebody forgot to make NeoExdeath immune to Odin? Damn it! In one side, you got a Odin in FFV who can Zanetsuken even the final boss, and then a Odin in FFVI who's barely able to Zanaetsuken enemies, and then a Odin in FFVIII who gets Zanetsukened *himself*

Speaking of Final Boss music, The Extreme is a great one too (and my favourite). In fact, the boss battle music for the final bosses in VI, VII and VIII fit the antagonists perfectly.

This is one of those two-tier bosses: a lesser one, followed by a greater one (just like in Final Fantasy VII: Bizarro Sephiroth, followed by Safer Sephiroth)

FFVI and FFVIII followed the fourt-tier final bosses (3 statues followed by Kefka in VI, and Ultimecia human form>Griever>Griever + Ultimecia>Ultimecia final form in VIII)

The neo ex-death's form that uses almagest can be stoned. Best way to do that is the spellblade with break. Every form has some weaknesses. one form can inflicted with old status, one with poison and all can be blinded

My set up was all mimes one of them being equiped with Gil Toss. Because if you mime it it does the same ammount of damage.

You should have mentioned the way to cheese exdeath to avoid his final form altogether (I think it was the berserk move...not sure). It interrupts his script.

Neo-ExDeath is one of the most intimidating final bosses I've ever seen..not just because of the seizure background, either. This guy looks just plain nasty, though I take it that he's the embodiment of ExDeath's desire to destroy everything that could only be freed once the party destroys ExDeath's body.

I also beat Neo-ExDeath around this level..36/35/36/36, albeit with bares and mimics.
