@Lattarnik what she means is that the soldier's family probably couldn't afford a proper education. He chose to become a soldier, because it was an easy(and maybe glorious) way out poverty. But that's just my opinion :-)

@wishinevermetyou My interpretation is that his government provide him with a proper education therefore one of his options was to become a soldier (i.e. cannon fodder) for the British Government. It galls me that some kids are leaving school without the ability to read or write. While the statistics focus on kids who refuse to go to school, the government is completely failing the ones who do. These kids should be kept in until they can read and write.

Wow. I first heard this song when poparena was reviewing "The Andalite Chronicles." Hearing he full version and going back to the review. It just kind of fit it. I mean even the main series it comes from ("Animorphs"). This song fits it so much.
