I have Discovery and Planning on buying The Wall Immersion on the 28th next month I think the box set Discovery is an amazing way to get kids to listen to Pink Floyd if they havent heard it before but if they have its a good way for them to relive Floyds good stuff

@yashioman The original usa release of Piper At The Gates of Dawn from October 1967-which was in mono, by the way- consists of the following tracks: See Emily Play, Pow R Toc H, Take Up Thy Stethescope and walk, Lucifer Sam, Mathilda Mother, The Scarecrow, The Gnome, Chapter 24, and last but not least, Interstellar Overdrive. You can check Wikipedia or any of the Floyd sites if you don't believe me.

Tower/Capitol records completely re-shuffled the entire lineup of material with little to no reguards for what the artists wanted. That was done with a lot of albums in those days, sadly enough. I keep wondering why they never re-release "The Embryo"...

In my honest opinion I believe it would have made more sense to remaster "Echoes", as it's a more comprehensive collection of their career, and highlights every era. This just seems too focused on the more popular albums, like The Wall, and Dark Side. Bad move, guys.

Literally half of "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were Here". Then 4 tracks from "The Wall". A Syd song managed to get through. And then technically Roger and David solo tracks that shouldn't be here in the first place. (Fletcher Memorial Home and Learning to Fly)

Why not something like "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" or "Fearless"?

They played it too safe, and this isn't representative of a band with 14 albums. Get the "Echoes" compilation instead or buy the actual albums.

Personally I think there are a few better songs on The Final Cut that should be on this compilation rather than Fletcher Memorial Home. The Final Cut is an awesome song, Southampton Dock is really good too. Even The Gunner's Dream.

This compilation is pretty bad. Its mostly made up of three albums (The Wall, DSOTM, and Wish You Were here) and they chose songs from The Final Cut, a Momentary Lapse of Reason, and The Division Bell over ones from albums like Animals, a Saucerful Of Secrets, and Meddle.

I have news for you...these days remastering is a big step down. The new masters are brickwalled and compressed simply to be LOUD, at the expense of the dynamics and subtleties in the music. The older masters have much more breathing room and natural space.

@KanonXD Nah, "See Emily Play" wasn't actually on Piper, but it was from that era.

If you get the 2007 3-disc edition of Piper, it has the singles on the 3rd disc. Still the best remaster of the album, because it has the definitive mono version.
