Blues is where it's at. Blues, Soul, R&B, Jazz. They raised a nearly a million bucks for the food bank in Portland at the Blues Festival July 4th weekend. People travel from miles around to attend. Anything that's not rap or has no ying with yang to it as in: Melody without harmony or harmony without melody. Don't tell me that country music can raise that kind of dough. It can't. Not unless you live in TX.

All the Idols must be getting burned-out by now in this grueling tour in a different city everyday by bus. I saw them in St. Louis Sunday night - well two thirds of the show since I was at Busch for the Cards/Cubs for 3 innings. I'll be at the Milwaukee show Thursday and the Chicago show Saturday. I've seen the adlib changes Haley has been doing to her two solo performances on Youtube & on sunday, probably to minimize the boredom of having to play HOTRS & Bennie for the umpteenth time. Thumbs up
I hope Haley can do her own music, & not just other people's. I think she should take her time & come out with something good, something her. Hopefully it won't be too long.

I think she's something special and shows depth to her soul to still want to go see somebody completely outside of today's contemporary musical influences. I also think it's cool that her intentions are to team up with her family during her album. Whether it happens or not is yet to be seen, but the family thing is cool any way. Most kids now days would sell their family's for fortune and fame, but not Haley!
