  • I'm surprised to see Oscar actually care about something.

  • Oscar: Hey I'm not gonna B a daddy!!! I'm Oscar the grouch not Oscar the daddy!!!!

    LOL

  • "I'm not the daddy type!" HA HA!!! Oh Oscar!...but in a way he was a daddy...to Slimey, his pet worm and Fluffy his elephant.

  • I don't remember Sesame Street being like this at all. I was born in '88 hmm maybe they weren't like this in the 90s.

  • Wait what, Oscar has a car?? Where the eff does he keep it?

  • What is Oscar doing in a hospital? Wouldn't he reek of garbage?

  • I'm a grouch!

That's okay. Grouches can make good daddies too.

I'm not gonna be a daddy!!

    ROFL! LOL!

  • After the Telly, Susan, Gordon, Miles scene:

Muppets: Two-Headed Monster takes turns reading itself a story

Cartoon: B is for bouncing circles

Film: Close up on animals, kids try to guess what they are

Muppets: Monsterpiece Theatre "The sound of Music"

Film: Fay demonstrates by placing 3 balls on a table

  • After Oscar has a conflict:

Song: I believe in little things

Muppets: Ernie plays the feelings game

Cartoon: Bellhop must bring 8 steamer trunks down 8 floors

  • where the numbers and counting?

  • LOOL restaurant equipment magazine! XD

  • I knew there was a deaf lady on the show! I kinda forgot about Linda, but slightly remembered her. What happened to her? & was she really Bob's love interest?, cause weren't they always together?

  • David does sound kinda hoarse.

  • Is that maria's voice on phone screaming at 4:47 ?

  • this episode was awesome it shows the meaning of patience and understanding of when a baby comes into the world

  • "Thank goodness"? I think Telly meant to say "It's just as well."

  • LOL, Oscar can drive? Oh wait, he drove in Follow That Bird, didn't he?

  • Gordon is awesome, the man hasn't aged in 25 years

  • Hey MarshalGrover, Where did you get these Sesame Street Episodes?

  • 0:11 I never thought Big Bird would ever say "gee whiz".

  • I heard him say such a thing in Follow That Bird.

  • me either. That was always more of an Oscar thing. lol

  • He also said gee whiz in the final episode when they were finishing up his nest after the storm.

  • hahaha bob got pissed at telly when telly said THANK GOODNESS bob and linda werent getting married.

  • You can see in this video how David was looking kind of ill :(

    RIP

  • @Jamiethewookie

Yeah, I know. It was such a shame.

  • The guy at 6:34 looks so familiar

  • Sesame Street started to get silly after Jim Henson died. For instance, they started to "jump the shark" with episodes like this; too coy and over sweetened.

But in the last 15 years it's gotten incredibly infantile. All of these baby-character puppets teach kids to use baby-talk. They used to have short clips where you'd see the inside of a crayon factory, or a post office, or a dentist. Now it's full of overdone crap.

  • Jim was alive when this came out.

  • They still have those, and sesame Street has changed to reflect current beliefs in Child Education.

Its not what it was, but the kids still like it.

  • Children like putting snots in there mouth's too, doesn't mean it's good for them now does it.

  • Acctuuallly,

Introducing simple germs into the system can improve the bodies immune system.

Nose-pickers don't get sick as often.

  • Maybe, but wouldn't that same logic translate into eating poo? and I doubt they did a study on such a thing, but if they did I'm all ears, personally I think children get enough exposure to germs, you know playing with worms and in the mud, jam on their faces nearly all the time etcetera.

  • I don't think Jam is germy...

But poo is actually devoid of nutritional value, and until it reaches air, its actually sterile. Or was that urine? It was one of them.

I was really using nose-picking as an example of how not everything kids do is bad for them.

  • Yes jam on childrens faces is usually quite ''germy'', think about it, the germs have a hot moist and high glucose environment to live in...unless the moisture level is very low you're going to have quite a few bacteria on your face...no poo is not sterile and neither is urine, that's a damn myth...urine is ''nearly sterile'' but is not sterile, and peeing on your jellyfish sting will just make your leg smell.

  • Oh, Jam makes sense then. But Urine is sterile, until it leaves the body, or you have an infection. It is only once the bacteria hits it that it loses its sterility.

  • WRONG, why do people have such a habit of regurgitating myths? if you've ever talked to a urologist or indeed corroborated what you say before you say it then you would know that you are indeed incorrect, now I could give you the name of a study which supports what I say, but you won't remember it unless you search for yourself, would you? I don't spoonfeed people.

  • You're right. I did go and do a search. I was wrong.

Now I have to go find the place I heard the first one and correct them XD

But too right on the I won't remember unless I do it myself. Thats the fundamental idea behind my education.

  • Glad I could help, you know maybe there's an evolutionary reason for snot eating, who knows?

  • I do recall as a child that it had therapeutic qualities.

But mother's tabasco sauce on the fingers soon stopped that...

  • yes, I know what you mean. I wonder if there is some place where you can buy all the old, vintage episodes.?... I remember them so much

  • well you can buy the Sesame Street old School DVD'S that would have all of the old episodes.

  • Comment removed

  • JIM HENSON DIED IN 1990

  • sorry i must have typed fast you'r right again

  • And what's so bad about this episode?

  • @MondoBeno I don't think you can really say a show "jumped the shark" if it continued on for another 20+ years...

  • Those stone stair are right by the UN.

  • This episode is so fitting because it aired in May 1989 right before I was born. I don't know how they would do this in today's uber PC world.

  • LOL, OMG.

  • Oscar is great in this episode. He is a softy at heart bless him.

  • Yeah, I know. I never would've known that he was just such a figure of sentimentality.

  • this is one side of Oscar we've never seen before.

  • That was a good time for the show.

  • i never realized that the numbers at the beginnig of the show were the episode numberts.

  • Rare sight to see Oscar out of his can and paceing back and forth!!!

  • Sesame street was so good back then- it was real drama you could enjoy- notjust broken segments. Telemarketer ^^

  • Yeah, I have to agree with you. It was a show you really felt a part of.

    :D

  • omggg gabis birth!

  • To think she is stil on the show today!

  • wow sesame street was so good back then sesame street sucks now these days

  • yes it does! Since Jim Henson passed away, it has gone down hill. And with no Don Music anymore is really bad! I hate Elmo & he has stolen & ruined the entire show plus some of those new characters rosita, zoee, and baby bear. Now it's more for the inner city kids (hispanics&foriegners) and gifted children.

  • @AFGSANFORD2 Not so!

  • @sugarbeatkid Ding-dong! You're wrong!

    End of story.

  • Awesomeness!

  • Where did you download all these clips from? My son is 9 monthes old and loves watching Sesame Street. I'd like to download the older Sesame Street Episodes for him to watch.

  • actually the older sesame streets are somewhat inappropriate for younger kids. youll see if you look them up on the internet.

  • Thanks for the concern.

I do, however, feel that cartoons and childrens programming today are somewhat worthless for educational purposes. They take old fairytales and change them in such a way that the original meanings and morals are lost. I prefer the old shows. I think kids don't have to be kept in a bubble.
