when adapting a song to acoustic many artists change the chords. he's taking a full band song and only playing with one instrument. he's playing the right chords, in a different key. if you listen to this version the chords go exactly with his voice. cindi lauper hit some pretty high notes and it's understandable that he would change the key in order to be able to sing.
