Do you even know what a solid state device is? I dont know where you got your electrical engineering degree but where I'm from SSTC is correct. You really should do research before blasting someone. Hes using transistors in the driver circuit. Transistors are solid state devices.

I've built one of these - but I'm only running at 12v so far - last time I tried 24v it was unregulated and I blew the fuse and a MOSFET. The performance Skori has is amazing in this video.

I have a 24v regulated supply that I need to wire in, hopefully I'll get something like this.

One thing I did notice was coupling the primary coil high on the secondary (2") really helps with performance.
