Hell yeah, they kick ass! I've followed them from them beginning. Check out the old video of theirs called Cheesy Home Video! It's excellent! The whole time they're on a boat in the ocean fishing & just shooting the shit with each other in between video's of theirs like Jerry was a Racecar Driver...etc... Is Les using some strange scale? The intro doesn't sound like a Western tuning system to me. I always thought this was supposed to sound Eastern or something, but then I saw an interview where he said he couldn't play fretless worth shit. So maybe it's just sour because he can't play it right, but the intro here sounds pretty close to the album.

Yeah it's really very noticeable that it's a slide on 3:35-3:55.

He's either using a jar style slide over his finger, or a bar slide. About the sustain, slides still have a good amount of sustain. Especially on a PRS, a slide shoulnd't impact the guitar's sustain too bad.
