Sequels usually try to duplicate the original. With Toy Story, the sequels expanded on the original. With Cars, the sequel seems to do something completely different. At the loss of the original, sentimental message, the pace is better and the humor is played up. If Toy Story 3's prison escape flair is anything to show for, a faster pace might not end up being such a bad idea.

@BoogityBogityBoogity He's my favorite character. But unfortunately, Doc's voice actor Paul Newman died in 2008. But they seem to have gotten a replacement actor for Filmore (whose voice actor also died) so perhaps they found one for Doc'.
