The irony is that McCain himself refuses to reduce to the level of talking about a person's past and irrelevant situations that have nothing to do with his POLICY. In addition, a president has to be able to present himself. It is not argueable that Obama is a much better speaker than McCain. Obama may not be your run of the mill, white, same old candidate, but for that reason and not despite that, his potential to be our next president is very strong.

I dont think you remember the Bush debates, and the Bush conventions. So many promises, not one of them came true... except for killing Saddam. Was that much of a threat? Since you're so "in the know" I'm sure you're aware that it was congress that declared war on Iraq, stating very specific reasons and objectives for the president, and that Bush has been following that binding resolution pretty much to the letter? Try looking up "Iraq Resolution of 2002" at the Library of Congress or c-span websites. You obviously only listen to what people tell you the president said. That's naieve.

First of all, only Congress has the right to declare war. After 9/11, Congress told Bush to go after anyone he believes caused 9/11... Bush took that as, "go ahead and have a war with Iraq for weapons of mass destruction." The govt knew that Bin Laden caused it.. NOT Saddam. Yes, we did go into Afghanistan and removed the Taliban, which was for the best of that country and our nation. But Iraq? We're spending billions on a war to nowhere.
