@Masamune0191 it does help making the guitar sound better. think of a pipe organ in church. the deep whistles are longer, so they sound more powerful. one could archive a deeper tone just by increasing the thickness of the steel.

same thing for guitar: the 'usual' way of having 6 strings with the same length is actually wrong, physicially. due to the fanned frets, the lower strings have a longer scale

@rorytuckerz its a fan fret guitar. the neck is built with different scale lengths to produce a truer tone for each fret

@rorytuckerz they're called 'Fan-Fret Guitars'. They're bent because the lower strings are much wider than the high. To compensate the difference it needs in changing frequencies with the frets, some strings need a wider, more stretched out, fret. Don Ross told me you feel little to no difference in change when you play it comparing to a straight fret. If you're into low bass-like tunes, look into getting a Baritone or a fan-fret. It would be worth the money!
