The answer to how that might happen is found in the Genesis. The sudden downpour would have brought deep freezing temperatures that would swamp and freeze such animlals in an instant.. I can certainly think of no better explanation.

Think of it as something that can pull out water molecule out of it's solid, one by one.

There are remains of millions of Mammoths. Many more than are needed for science or museums. Oil is also the product of pre-hisotric life. Just like mammoth ivory, it is a natural resource.

Ah, yes. I read your comment wrong. I had a similar thought when I heard that. Unless the availability of mammoth ivory drives down the pirce to levels it does not make sense for the illegal elephant ivory trade... not much chance. And at $80k for two tusks and a head I'd assume the elephant trade will continue to thrive. I don't know the costs involved in the elephant slaughter though.

This is so cool. Were actually able to see the physical remains of extinct mammoths that lived hundreds of thousands of years ago.

Cloning is so cool. I may be a devout catholic, but I am all for cloning if its done saftley and with good intentions.

We live on this earth, however we were not the first. We are mear physical beings roaming about the earth in an ago-old ritual of life and death.
