  • LOVE IT!!! Nothing beats steam powered!! Man I just wish I was there.. Soon as I would have gotten hit with the smoke, I would have been jumpin up and down sayin.. "That is bad ass, YEAH, hell yeah... WOOOOOW!!!!.. ok, lets wait for the other train, what bout an hour or so?.. yep let me get my lawn chair and crack open another beer!"

  • There is nothing more thriling than being passed by a large locomotive thats working hard. Thats why if you're an hour off schedule, people are still waiting for you.

  • Its quite interesting that alot of people are saying about steam engines being bad for the climate. In fact they are pretty good. The smoke you see coming out of the chimney is so heavy that the majority just fall back down to earth and settles. Rather than being absorbed into the atmosphere. Also alot of this so called smoke is actually steam. Car emissions are alot worse than steam engines could ever be.

  • all the eco-nuts complain about green this and green that yet they all still drive cars...why not all the eco-nuts gets a bicycle and lead by example...leave the rest of us alone to enjoy our trains until you nuts practice what you preach

  • what he said!

  • @gekko14 I agree! If all the problem was resumed to these vintage locomotives the planet's overheating issue wouldn't be such a big deal... Leave the historic trains in peace! There's so few left that it is insignificant.

  • Your view is understandable. But steam trains were only a small part of the industrial revolution, which, as a whole, is probably responsible for climate change. Most steam engines were scrapped in the 1960s; the few that remain really don't cause much pollution in the grand scheme of things. Indeed, they are what got me interested in science - and I'm involved in sorting out environmental issues. They may inspire other kids in the same way. They are treasured pieces of our heritage.

  • they do look like they give off a lot of pollution, though. but i understand what you said

  • Steam is actually quite natural to be honest with you, all it is is boiling water, steam and smoke and fire, which is all natural! :) Electric the greenest, Steam comes close 2nd

  • owned with smoke lol

    good food footage!

  • the driver shut the regulator just before the bridge,1.32, and i think you could hear the blower kick in at 1.35

  • I like the shot at Whitchurch, very artistic.

  • Very dramatic Whitchurch shot there with the train under the rolling clouds of smoke.

  • Awesome footage!!
