  • i really appreciate you taking the time to do what you've done at the beginning of this video only to demonstrate that learning a language is not that easy. I really do.

  • any way you can upload a .doc version so I can put it on my kindle? docstoc is supposed to provide a .doc version but that feature doesn't seem to be working right now... Thanks!

  • @aneeley If you send me your email address I can send you a PDF version

  • The first impression I had when he was doing that was: Oh, he went crazy by studying too many languages! lol

  • this angered me

  • You should have ended your video at 1:35 LOL

  • thanks for the free book!! ♥

  • Great work!!!! Thanks a lot!

  • Gosh I am anxious to get the hard copy but it's 2 expensive.

  • You Need Mains : ) LOL

  • Cool project indeed - thanks so much for sharing that collection!

    Tim

  • @steintanz Thank you, Tim. I have enjoyed watching your videos (and Sepp's) and have learned a lot from them. Best regards.

  • @syzygycc ... but please be careful and select wisely what you learn from us! ;o)=)

  • I thought the book was free? I went to the link you posted to Docstoc and you have to pay to download it and become part of their club or whatever. :o(

  • @ilovetheniqab It is free. Click the green download button and it should begin downloading the PDF. If it still doesn't work for you, send me a private message and I'll email it directly.

  • @syzygycc Ahh!! Thank you! It worked! I clicked on the little orange one and it said I had to pay to download it. I can't wait to read it! Thank you so much for all your hard work compiling this work!

  • Claude, your hard work is surely aprreciated, will read the entire book today. Thanks again, good job!!!

  • This book is definately the greatest book I have ever read. I love it.

I have exprienced most of things, which is said in this book. it is a book for every language lover, who knows the joy and the pain of aquiring a new language.

I feel unfortunate that some people don't even know the value of it. some even doubt it.

But those who understands it, gets motivated by it.

    Let people say negtive things.

But, Claude, you got a bunch of language enthusiasts, who loves you and and your book.

  • (ENG) Incredible man... this book looks great! I'm really interested in languages, and i think that this book is prefect for me. :)

  • @Gerardpb2 Thanks for taking the time to post your comments. I hope you enjoy the book!

  • Hi Claude I am pleased to say my copy of the book arrived today, much earlier than expected. It really looks great, thanks once again!

  • @sigendut1 Glad to hear it. Appreciate your support!

  • thank you so much for putting this project together syzygcc,,i hope that you are rewarded for your good deeds.

  • Can't but congratulate you on a wonderful achievement. I've already started reading this monumental work and I'm greatly enjoying the contributions. The only regrettable thing is that I never got around to contributing. If there's ever a second edition, I'll definitely jump on board.

  • @getreallanguage Thanks for that. I am very pleased with how it turned out. A second edition? Hmmmm...

  • Youtube Partner lol!

  • Awesome work!!

  • Yep it is now on my wish list.

  • Great video. I can wait to get a copy. Glad to see that it all came together so nicely.

  • For some honesty in language ability check out watch?v=Kpbq8DwzMFI. She says, she is only fluent in English and demonstrates her limited ability in the other languages she knows. The thing is, with her limited ability in other languages, she is able to run circles around those who claim to be fluent. Notice that her worst languages are the ones she studied as a second language, the other ones, she just picked up.

  • @jeminijem1 You obviously haven't seen Moses--Laoshu505000; he can run circles around her. He learned languages all on his own, without help from schools or living in another country. Just books, chat rooms, dictionaries and people he has met or worked with; with no prior knowledge or training in any language. And speaks and/or studies languages that are now dying out from non-use such as Navajo. Anyone who speaks more than 1 or 2 languages deserves their due because its not easy.

  • How many of these "polyglots" are real polyglots? Off the bat, I see some fakes like Steve Kaufmann and Benny Lewis. These guys aren't fluent in any language but their native ones.

There are too many fakes and posers on Youtube. Usually these con men are just trying to make a fast buck. But for the most part, I think people are just trying to have fun; which is a good thing. But I think if people are going to give advice on language learning they should be honest about their qualifications.

  • @jeminijem1

I agree with you 100%. I felt the same way. Steve K. says he speaks

    10 languages fluently. From what I've seen....NO he isn't.

  • @jeminijem1 I wouldn't say Steve Kaufmann is a total fake. He may not be very fluent in German, for example, but his Spanish and French sound pretty good. I don't speak any of the other languages he claims to speak, but judging by the ones I mentioned, I think it's fair to call him a polyglot.

  • @jeminijem1 I'm surprised to see this post. Haven't you been to any of these people on Youtube? Steve Kaufman, a polyglot also runs Linq.com for people learning and for glots to contribute. Almost everyone in this book has Youtube videos of them speaking other languages, haven't you seen them? Besides, becoming a glot takes time and patience, Just because someone doesn't know 100 languages and only knows 2 or 3 doesn't mean, 1 they aren't a glot and 2 they dont have something legitimate to say.

  • @jeminijem1 i've learned a lot from Steve Kaufmann. Actually, i've been watching his videos for a while , and i never heard him saying that he achieved near native fluency in any language he speaks.

  • You are a prophet (well-nigh)

  • YOU ROCK!

  • Is it available in the uk?

  • @nriab23 You have to access it via Amazon US, but it can be shipped to the UK

  • @nriab23

As Claude has advised you may buy the book via Amazon.com ( the US website). I have already placed an order but it won't reach here until mid December. Btw it costs £16.09 if you select standard delivery.

  • @sigendut1 Thanks for the extra information, I'll be getting it for sure :)

  • Great work and funny intro video :)

For those curious, I've put a direct download link on my site (search google for fluentin3months polyglot project), since docstoc requires a sign up.

@Claude You'll be glad to hear that post is getting shared on a huge number of sites and a bunch of people are telling me they are ready to get the print version!

  • Finally! I'm buying it!

  • I just want to say, I do regret not sending you anything for this project. Every time I tried to write for it, it came out very pretentious, because I didn't have enough experience at the time in language learning. Now that I've reached what I consider an intermediate level in German I do have experience, but of course it's too late. I also want you to know that I did keep my promise of ordering the book once it's available, and I'm extremely ecstatic that it's out! Thanks for doing this for us.

  • I'm buying the book!

  • That is amazing. Thanks alot for the hard work and the commitment towards the project. I wish I participated

  • Excellent! I'll try and get a copy from Amazon!

  • Thank you so very much Claude for delivering such a wonderful project!! I'm "thrilled to bits "! You are an amazing guy with vision and enthusiasm to see to the end! I have already ordered a copy btw its costs £16.09 for those of us on the other side of the pond!

    Best Wishes :-)

  • Wow, It's finish!

  • i would imagine that is book is groundbreaking. not only in the content, but the way in which is was put together. i'm amazed. bravo, bravo!

  • hmm. seems like a bomb to me looks like i should report this to the FBI my friend

  • congrats, amazing job!!

  • congrats on the end product! thanks to you and everyone for doing this.

  • amazing energy and passion

  • You did a great thing, Claude. This has already helped hundreds and will help thousands of people. I mentioned it today on my Linked In group which is called "Linguists and Polyglots". I can't post the link here but if anyone's in Linked In you'll easily find it.

  • This is so awesome ! I can´t wait until my order has arrived ! The idea that I have contributed something for this wonderful book makes me very proud of myself.

  • Wow this is amazing! I'm gonna buy it just because it's so cool something I wrote got into a printed book haha.

  • @pinkpumpkinn I really appreciate your contribution.

  • @syzygycc You're welcome. I appreciate you working so hard and coming up with this idea. It's really amazing. Thanks!

  • The printed book looks great! 500 p?? That's a lot! I want a printed copy.

  • el link de "The Polyglot Project Book" me lleva a Junco & Cheep 住めば都 Promotion Video - Sumeba Miyako ... curioso

  • @tmp011007 Mi error. Inténtalo de nuevo. Debe estar bien ahora.

  • @syzygycc ok, muchas gracias

  • Signore Cartaginese!! Come sta?!

  • The printed book looks very nice indeed! I'll try to purchase a copy today.

To think that it is also my book, and that I am one of the 40 some authors!

  • @alkantre Peter, thanks for being one of the first to really take this book seriously!

  • @syzygycc de nada! it seemed like an interesting project from the very beginning. That is was so fruitful is certainly a blessing. I like the way it runs the gamit from beginners to masters in the field. Every piece has its interest. I have already purchased three copies. I plan to donate one to my university library.

  • I'm going to show your channel to all my friends ^_^
