When i was in high school i made my mind up that I wanted to become a cop and a few years later I joined the BPD. With some hard work and dedication you should be in a uniform. just remember to never give up. where did you get that shirt. I ware blue....wish i had enough rank to ware the white...someday haha

well thats the same patch and white shirt i have so be careful with that...you should be proud to have that shirt and maybe someday you might earn the right to ware it if you join bpd...a lot of good men have died standing behind that patch and badge

I've been processing with BPD for sometime now, but they haven't even started my background checks. Haven't heard from them in a while either. Any word on what's going on with recruitment? I'd appreciate in intel. Thanks

well the word is that we are in a hiring freeze but you might just make it in the last class..... i would call them and politely ask were you are standing in the process..... they do take a while though....as you will find out, policing requires a lot of patience and waiting.

Much appreciated. I did send an e-mail weeks ago, and never heard anything back. Guess I made the mistake of putting all my eggs in one basket. I've started applying to local SO's, amongst other agencies. Nothing against BPD, but I've got to get into something soon. Thanks again, and stay safe.

well do a lot of ride alongs...... but balto city police are a breed of their own.... you have to be part stupid and part crazy to join us.... you see a lot messed up stuff with us in just your first few months...

the white shirt is for lieutenants, majors, deputy majors and the commissioner. Patrol and sergeants use a navy blue....unless there is a special service that they attend, then everyone wares a white long sleeve.

Thanks, what colour is the CPD shirts? I know they have the four stars patch on right shoulder, is it an American Flag on the left?

They are of a light-blue, and the left shoulder has the Chicago Police Enblem, if you really want to see what the uniform looks like just search chicago police uniforms in google images n there is a full uniform on the first page
