  • What he could have done was possibly get that island expansion, place some cannons to prevent the immidiate threat of doom drops, using his stalkers to blink to and away from that base. Though I guess it was in early beta and he didn't know about that yet. Sure would be epic though! Lol :)

  • this is such horrible play just shows us how much people have improved even in 3 months .... a million helions no upgrade? whitera goes drops we never see those anymore... no sentries ? all in all not good:(

  • This game proves the importance of fleet composition, WhiteRa (which I do believe was not the real WhiteRa) was gearing up for facing a terran bio-ball. Jump saw this and countered excellently with a ton of mech and left Ra back-peddaling for air units and losing his valuable expansions. this is where the power of scouting comes into play, even if they shoot down your observers you have to keep an eye on their fleet compo no matter what.

  • Whitera learned from this definatly, should always transition into Void Rays against non-Thor mech

  • When he saw the fields of hellions and seige tanks, whiteRA should have gone for rays and carriers, because a fully charged ray can take out a missle turret pretty quickly.

  • @ProtossManic an alien lover would spam. The only reason I ever played Toss was to mind control workers and double or even triple my pop cap and still rape with good old Terran. WhiteRa is a good player but the sensor towers would have made the DTs nothing more than zealots.

  • @DragonKry11 Sensor towers aren't detectors. They only pick up uncloaked units.

    k micro management is commanding your units efficiently for instance pulling back single units which have taken damage or flanking ur opponents, using abilities to the fullest etc etc

    macro management is more like looking at the big picture. its your infrastracture your build order, your base layout, decision making unit production wise and keeping on top of everything that is ressource-related.

  • @dustinishere1s if your talking about the tanks... no however if you could macro well, you can retreat shoot and keep retreating really fast and wait for the cooldown, then let it fire it's cannons again. However this was much easier in SC1 due to the fact that you shot really slowly even without the seige mode on.

  • @khunag I don't need to know the hp of every building on screen at all times. If there is a major battle the commentator could click on a unit or a group of units and show their hp for a few seconds if it was of any relevance, otherwise it's just annoying. Simple as that

  • @khunag Wrong. When you can't actually see the units because their hitpoints bars are in the way, it becomes annoying. There is such a thing as too much information, especially when it comes at the expense of visibility.

    you dont know shit retard. The only recent pro foreigners we ever had on korean teams were idra and nony.. anyone else is not considered pro unless on a korean pro team. He is at best a good foreigner, and yes good foreigners can beat pros from time to time... particularly with cheesy builds. So how bout you get your facts straight and stop pretending like you know like the other posers. Spend 8 years learning the game then come talk on here.

  • A lot of the commentary revolved around this being a mech build, but isn't it the EMP shockwave from a bio unit that won the game for Jump?

    Mech heavy armies are an obvious counter to Psi storm, but how do you counter EMP as protoss?

  • It wasn't about the EMP. The Protoss player should have gone air. He needed to get some good air units. Phoenix would have worked even. Lifted those siege tanks and then taken care of the hellions.

  • The Thor does count as much, but they cost a lot. When you get a factory, you either choose siege tanks or Thors, unless you gamble for the high minerals.

  • Early warpgates would have walked all over that build. Terran doesn't have the ability to turtle like that and defend their entire base from the powerful tech units of the toss + tier 1 reinforcements from warpgates.

  • These guys are good, but I'd like to see them play SC/BW 1 to know if they're really pro. Their average APM this game was only around 120, and the protoss never used his dropships to flank while fighting the terran army, only to try resource harassing... If he'd used his 2 dropships to flank behind during that final battle, he would've had a chance at winning it. Zealots running in front behind tend to takeout tanks.

  • Ghosts with EMP, that's a MAJOR change... You used to have to upgrade it for science vessels and it cost 200 energy to use. In my opinion, this has unbalanced the TvP, giving ghosts EMP... I haven't played SC2 yet though, so I don't know what they've added to Protoss to balance it.

  • How does smart casting work? like if u have marines and marauders and you wanna use stim pack do u ahve to click a whole bunch of times or is there a key u press to make them all use it at the same time? also can u enable abilities to be auto casted?

  • Now Siege Tanks cost 25 more gas, have a much higher build time, and do 10 less damage then they used to in Siege Mode. Compared to Marauders they aren't cost effective currently unless your really creative.

    Tanks in SC1 did 70 Explosive damage

    Tanks in SC2 do 60 damage -no modifiers-

    Explosive damage in SC1 means

    100% damage to large units

    75% to Medium

    50% to small.

    Essentially the Tank did 35 damage + 35 damage to large units if we use the SC2 terminology.

    Tanks now do 60 damage to ALL units regardless of what unit type they are. (With the exception of immortal)

    Anyone can tell you that Siege tanks are more useful for a bunch of grouped small units.

  • The game was pretty much broad war style until the tide turn happen so freaking fast! it's like less than 3 seconds the entire protoss force is annihilated

  • I noticed watching other Starcraft 2 betas that the unit counts are lower than in Starcraft 1 whereas people had 50+ Dragoons or a crapload of hydralisks. The most I see right now is 25 or 30 units in battles.

  • A lot of these units have more than 2 supply though, and also theres still 50+ workers with big bases. Starcraft 2 armies may be smaller but they get big at a faster rate, long games in SC2 are 25-30 minutes

  • Terran mech build for Starcraft 2 should be Hellion, Siege Tank, Viking. Support by Ghost for EMP and snipe, and Raven for detection.

  • Could you use the 'income' tab when economic attacks happen, it's a really good indicator how effective mineral harassment is, and those are usually turning point moments to boot..

  • HD try using mech with a single starport with the reactor or w/e it's call. The addon so you can make two Vikings at the same time. Use those for anti air and land them for harrassment or when you really need some ground units.
