  • nice vid mate thanks!

  • Great video bro. Very well done

  • I'm facing a problem with the accelero xtreme plus II and the 6870. the 3mm spacers are too long and the heatsink does not contact the GPU chip. anyone else has this problem?

  • Also, did you need to buy the VR001 for the extra heatsinks?

  • Thanks for this video. This seals the deal and I will be purchasing one of these to replace my stock cooler on my XFX 6870. The thing sounds like a vaccuum in my case and is the loudest fan. The twin turbo is so quiet!

  • hi just want to ask you if this fit powercolor HD6750? pls reply. thx very much :)

  • @youth03 Dont know, sorry.

  • quem veio aqui por causa do funnyblackcat da joinha

  • Hi, I'm going to be getting one of these aftermarket coolers because my stock fan has died on my 6870. I'll probably follow this video for tips and whatnot. Do the separate little heat sinks stick to the VRMs with normal thermal paste or is there something extra you need to stick them on?

Any extra tips you can give me would be great! Thanks, also great video :)

  • @Xenogenocide Sorry, not the VRMs I mean the memory chips

  • @Xenogenocide and memory heat sinks have paste on them too.

  • @Xenogenocide Tnx for comment. The orginal basecooler for VRM is enough. VRM uses heatmats that looks like chewing gum. I did put too many little heatsinks on top of orginal VRM heatsink.

  • @Xenogenocide heat sinks included have paste on them. I used sawed one from orginal vr heatsink.

  • i can use this cooler in a 6870 sapphire ( non reference cooler) ??

  • @piterfloyd I think so. If just the structure of card is same.

  • a reference design 6870 just goes up to 71° C at full load? no way man. My xfx 6870 Black Edition dual fan heatens up to 93° C in furmark.

You must have been testing in the snow :)

    cheers

  • @TheBassgasm I tested it in finland about 20c room. =)

  • @snowsoul83 that's impressive! i think you can be proud of it ;) must be a golden sample or something like that ^^

  • i want to do this so bad but the xfx moder friendly warnty does not apply here in the uk

  • I did the same, used a saw to get that piece of the original one. Works great! Load temps dropped with 10-20°C while stressing. During actual gameplay it dropped 20-30°C !! HD 6870 @ 1000/1050

  • Did you need the VR001 pack?

  • @IronswEeep No.

I used piece of orginal heatsink to cool VR.

  • @snowsoul83 Nice, Thx for your vid i'll buy one. But what about the sound? Compare to the original fan do you hear it in IDLE?

  • @IronswEeep

Arctic is silent as wisper. At the end you can hear it on Furmark.

  • Way to ruin your warranty man. You could have bought 2 pieces of thin sinks on the VRMs for $2.

  • @cagancelik

    I were too lazy ^^
