  • you have ALL been assimilated... school. work, paper with numbers on it that you run around buying things with because someone gave them to you for doing something... Assimilation

  • @NathanPaulPrince Dude, chillax, go to McD's, and order yourself a nice big extra-Valium meal. Your in YouTube, not the Matrix.

  • I keep waiting for news about a new tour. Saw them last year. It was so great and dark.

  • My Caucasian friend told me that I was probably the only "BLACK " person that he knows that listens to this kind of music... I glad to be in the party of one !

  • @Gene3875

That's funny because the industrial scene owes a HUGE debt to the oldschool Electro scene, which was almost 100% African American. Listen to Cybotron, Afrika Bambaata, Herbie Hancock etc, and you´ll find most of the more common tropes of industrial music. Just more funk and less distortion pedals ;)

  • @Darwinist ummmm, wrong completely the electronic scene was mostly centered in England and Germany, not to mention industrial was influenced by the like of artists like Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire, and Throbbing Gristle, guys like NIN Ministry and SP have even named those artists among post punk artists like PIL and Joy Division and Killing Joke as huge influences not seeing any dark meat there....

  • @Gene3875 You are not the only one

  • @Gene3875 If it makes you feel better my friend and I are pretty much the only dudes in our town who listen to this type of music. Together we can be party of 3.

  • bizzarelove triangle from new order ???

  • @darwleg maybe if new order was having their blood drained, feed feces and beaten every hour/no doesnt sound like it, not at all lol

  • Well, fuck me gently with a chainsaw.

  • overture assassination Nation

  • "The worlds greatest mortuary"," The everlasting eternal peace", more cuts from the TWILIGHT ZONE "Mr. Engel". Skinny Puppy must have liked the TWILIGHT ZONE

  • played this song in 3 different programs at the same time... its ... invigorating

  • mindfuck

  • old school synthesizers ..i like ARP and MOOG and other mystic synt... best regards from me....

  • Lol ogre's face is like "I'm surrounded by idiots", Dwayne's like "You gon' git raped"

and cEvin is like... I don't even know.

  • SP is just 1 of those bands whos drove industrial music into 1 of my greatest pleasures. :)

  • @kassylion thanks for the suggestions.

  • @kassylion indeed yo

  • wicked song and i love the picture.

  • there'll never be music like this anymore, everything's so processed these days!

  • I have been searching for a track from these guys. The only phrase that comes to mind is I have my kidneys,my spleen, me and my intestines. Do you know what the name of this track is?MvS..

  • @manchius01 Song is "The Choke" on Bites. Enjoy!

  • @manchius01 The song is "The Choke" on Bites

  • No one did it like Skinny Puppy in the '80s. Finding a well attended club with a DJ spinning this is one of my ideas of paradise.

  • @30nations Man no one sounded like them in the 80's and no one sounds like them now. They have gotten older and chilled out a lot, the monster called technology has no doubt fucked with them, and Dwayne Goettel passed, but they still sound different than anyone else out there, even with Mark Walk.

Though Mark Walk doesn't sounds like he's using these beautiful oldanalog electronics in the new stuff. It all sounds like MIDI to me, a lot of it, sounds just a little weaker, still awesome though.

  • NOTHING sounds like skinny puppy!!!!! dont even try to compare it some other shit!

  • The 80's kicked ass for industrial!!!!!512

  • This sounds a lot like Oomph!'s first album. If you like this then check them out too. They are a German band if you're not familiar with them. They were a huge influence on bands like Rammstein. They started making this same kind of music at the same time SP did. Check them out.

    Oomph! - Mein Herz

  • @merritt4900 I'm listening to Mein Herz now, kick ass suggestion.

  • begining (after saw) remind anyone of ghostbusters?

  • Yes!!!!!!! SP rules!!

  • who gives a shit .....skinny puppy are great..

  • @icheem OMG, you're so right! I AM a retard! Thanks for your eloquent observation, fuckstick.

  • How can 13 peps dislike PUPPY?!?!?! That is nuts!

  • I'M inventing a time machine and stealing a Back and Forth cassette.

  • @FistSaidToTheFace

    I may actually have one

  • Comment removed

  • @FistSaidToTheFace There's a 1988 version (cassette) and a 1984 (casette) version..the 1988 (cassette)version was easy to find..You never said anything about some esoteric bootleg version. Its very common for alot of bands to release "dry run verions" of an LP before the actual studio, record company version was out. OK...so you have the original Back and Forth cassette. what would you do with it? sell it for maybe like $60 or just listen to it???????????

  • mid eighties puppy for me.

    not this.

  • @ghostsonatasong Chainsaw was actually put out in '85, so it doesn't get anymore "MID EIGHTIES" than this.

  • Skinny puppy 4-life

  • industrial metal thanks

  • @fcukinlasttry It didn't happen like that. It wasn't so linear. In the early days (and I mean, I've heard recordings from Guy Debord - era Situationist stuff that's industrial) Original Industrial wasn't electronic. Metal most certainly didn't lead to Industrial. Nothing really leads linearly to anything else, with regard to music.

  • @kaubey

    Uh you're both retards

  • the singer is pavi largo thumbs up if you know what i mean

  • @11Sweeneytodd

    Great movie!

  • Rock led to Metal, metal led to Industrial, then Thrash, Then,....fuck....wicked ride.

  • Which CD is this song on?

  • @TheOMGfactor it's on Mind : The Perpetual Intercourse . From the mid 80ies.

  • AAAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!! I HIT STOP AND IT KEEPS PLAYING IVE BEEN HEARING IT FOR DAYS, IN MY SLEEP, MY FOOD SINGS IT TO ME!!! HOW DO YOU GIVE YOURSELF A LOBOTOMY??? WHY IS MY CUTE PUPPY DOG SO .._THIN_???!!!

  • industrail and experimental sample. thats what skinny puppy is

  • i have that same shirt that Ogre is wearing in this photo (process era)

  • @AntiMusick that's Aleister is it not on the shirt? Some style.

  • @katastrophy It could have been Genesis P-Orridge shirt since at that time of the photo was when Gen worked with Download and Puppy Gristle. Gen is seen with that same shirt in the Infinite Beat promo photos.

  • @AntiMusick very interesting ty:)

  • Layne Staley from Alice in Chains, Mad Season, and Class of 99 loved this band :)

  • i have this on vinyl.

  • great for S&M

  • im gonna go slit my wrists now

  • I think Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson and Reznor and all the other freaks that TURN ME ON get this. HOT!

  • Skinny Puppy is post punk! 100% industrial!

  • What album is this from, as soon as I find out im purchasing it, along with 5 other skinny puppy (and OhGr) albums.

  • I swear to God I heard one of the zombies from Evil Dead at 2:50.....

  • Commenting is so slow when sing IE but fast on chrome.

Chainsaw was in most dance clubs in 1990 in NC then when i moved to DC chainsaw was the opening dance song when the clubs opened up at the spy club.... too bad they closed down.

  • @kaiserrock nivek ogre is freakin amazing lolz

  • Wait, I don't even see how Skinny Puppy could be called Pop, Punk is closer, since the whole viewpoint of Punk is closer, but that's a different thing entirely.

Puppy is vintage, bona-fide, original Industrial, and They. Are. Gods. :p

  • @thiefelent No better way to say it. They created this genre, and that's what God's do-create.

  • @thiefelent It follows a pop music format. That is roughly intro/verse/chorus/verse/chorus/verse/bridge/chorus/outro, whiling having a singer. Punk is a form of pop music. Pop refers to structure then sound. As opposed to Classical, that goes in movements, or jazz, which can be totally unpredictable, or house/disco or minimal techno that has very long slowly evolving mixes.

  • @thiefelent Industrial... ALL The way!

  • @thiefelent truly psychic,are they really assassins......

  • @thiefelent pop simply means popular. by that definition its all pop music.

  • @thiefelent SP is not punk. Kinda maybe. But SP is more industrial/electronica/experimental/dance. They were also bit in animal rights, and all vegans. They were industrial revolutionists as well as activists. One of the first (arguable THE first) industrial bands.

  • @thiefelent heh yeh you wish it is industrails. win4me commenting on 1yrold comment. faggot. wikipedia IRL industrails like TG or something.

  • @thiefelent heh yeh you wish it is industrails. win4me commenting on 1yrold comment. faggot. wikipedia IRL industrails like TG or something.

  • @googlemymusic Unsuccessful troll is unsuccessful.

  • i like it, i was watching south park and the goth kids mentioned skinny puppy so i looked em up and i like!

  • yeah that part made me laugh. They weren't far off on the whole goth thing being sorta retarded but SP still owns hehe.

  • when you say sp do you mean south park or skinny puppy, hahah

  • both hehe

  • lol same here

  • djanzon... what about Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb?

  • this is the real deal the real SP shit. it's sad ppl are claiming themselves to be 'industrial' lovers when they got into skinny puppy through songs such as 'Pro-test'

  • I did not get into them until I head last rights... then I found albums like Vivisectvi and the process.. I honestly like Process the best for some reason... Too Dark Park is pretty sick as well.

  • Look a little more...

You´ll find them to be the best of those you list.. I promise you..

Check the songs "I´mmortal", "Addiction" and more...

They might take a whlie but will grow on you, i GUARANTEE that!

Also, check Frontline Assembly and early Ministry!

If you like this kind of music, also check Funker Vogt, Agonoize, Tamtrum, Suicide Commando and Blutengel..

Yes, different "genres" but all good music!

  • thx djanzon, i totally forgot the name of Frontline Assembly, u helped me out big time.

  • I just read the entire wikipedia page on "Industrial Music" and not once... NOT FUCKING ONCE... did they even mention Skinny Puppy. That's just fucking wrong as fucking wrong can fucking be. What fuckbrain wrote that wiki page? That's like writing a page on "Heavy Metal" and forgetting to put Ozzy Osborn in there... or writing a page on "Psychadelic Rock" and forgetting to put Pink Floyd in there.

  • Can't you add them? I thought wikipedia let people add things?

  • look at all the skinny puppy vids.... he's wrote the same comment on all them

  • lol ya. but only like 4, maybe 5.

  • they are mentioned on Wikipedias Electronic Rock page

  • @therealsolstice That is just not right! But then again, who cares? If there are people out there who need wikipedia to find Skinny, they probably are not important anyway.

What you need to get to know and love Skinny is a close friend who forcefeed you with the best songs a few times so you get past the "a lot of noice, but I do not get it" phase. I had that friend who was kind enough to play them to me a few nights when I tried to sleep 19 years ago - I am still thankful!

  • I would have to agree with you "therealsolstice", but wiki is not a creditable source of info in the first place, people just add as they please.

  • Well if it makes you feel any better, go on wikipedia and type in list of industrial bands and Skinny Puppy is on there. :]

  • You're free to alter the article.

  • dwayne has aged about 20 years in no time flat in this photo

  • this is some trippy shit

  • I find it funny to see what people find trippy. To be honest, I never know if something is trippy or not. Well, lsd, thats pretty trippy. And salvia and whatnot. I guess Skinny Puppy IS trippy. I couldn't actually TRIP and listen to them though. It wouldn't produce positive vibes. Thats not saying I don't feel good when I listen to Skinny Puppy, I do. I love em a lot <3

  • ASSASSINATION!!!!!!!

  • wicked shit

  • does anyone know of a rumor or maybe even a fact that jeffery dahmer was a pretty big fan of skinny puppy and that he would play them when he murdered them

    ?????

  • No hear Clock DVA Buried Dreams perfect soundtrack to making living sex zombies

  • church in hell...is that a puppy song

  • What in the Sam Hill is this about? Maybe my meds won't allow me comprehend !

  • the Industrial Scene or "RivetHeds" arent entirely apocalypic future based. Infact most of it is music dealing with the times we are going through now and not glossing over them in pink paint. Like punk, it deals with things like love, oss, addictions and the decay of the human race, moral issues of technolgy that we face today. Trent Reznor of NIN is hugely influeced by Skinny Puppy and the RevCo crew. He was 18 hanging out with the best Industrial minds in 88. pretty hate machines realse year.

  • yea this is a little bit too strange and out there, does ne1 know of any other intense-sounding electronica and/or techo-ish bands like this but that are a little bit easier to start with for a beginner to the entire genre???

  • you mean a band with electronic music? I personally love The Subs, especially live! But that's more electro then techno. Erm really hard techno but kickass cool is Aux Raus. check those out, hope you like ém ;-)

  • look at mortiis bassist of emperor til euronymus got killed and he crossed into industrial he even states that skinny puppy was a huge influence!

  • Is that why Reznor counts Skinny Puppy as one of his biggest influences? How fucking stupid are you?

  • I love NiN but this comment is so...so.....lame.

  • Yep suck my nuts (I think)

  • Well I dont know bout anyone else but I listen to metal and Industrial and I love Skinny Puppy more than any other industrial group but Never means I wont try new groups out cuz that hoe ppl should be, more diverse.

  • Love the industrial, got myself so hooked I can not listen to radio anymore. Where is the good stuff gone? Here, lol!

  • well,i dont understand it either, metal fans and industrial fans CAN get along,I love industrial music, and i have friends who dedicate their lives to metal and we have no problems....we actually agree on some bands. hahaha. it isnt that hard.

  • yeah it´s possible^^

  • why is there so much hatred between metal and industrial fans? theyre both good genres

  • wait i listen to metal and i think this is pretty cool :/

  • Me too...

  • lol. i listen to both. in fact, i listen to alot of stuff.

  • strange, i like both industrial and (black)metal...i have no problem with either kind of music,

  • that's called having a range in your taste for music = p

You can like industrial and metal... and even Britney Spears! if you will...

all quite normal at the end of the day, whatever you choose to listen to =P

  • @RofloI3east it ALL has to do with what kind of music speaks for the particular feelings u r having at any given time...

  • @RofloI3east watching Brit on mute is not enjoying her music...but I get it anyhow.:P

  • @RofloI3east Whatever moves you. No need to be a music racist.

  • "Metal" music and "Industrial" music scenes are both different.Like comparing pears & bananas.

Industrial, its scene is an apocalypse future(think of movies like,"Mad Max","Blade Runner","Hardware").The music has a dance beat and electonic syth sound. There are still many night clubs devoted to the Industrial music scene. Also, people who are into new wave/alternative(Depeche Mode, the Cure,Siouxie etc.) and gothic(mostly goths)are closely related to the Industrial scene.

  • Why fuck over followers???? Just enjoy the music...and if you don't : just don't , get over it!!!

  • live and let live.... but most just never get this implied "Golden Rule"

    Thumbs up. ^_^

    ..X..

  • Live and let live...just the right words!!!! Thank you for backing me up!!!!! XX

  • ^_^

    ..X..

  • industrial and metal will never die!

  • PROTIP: Electro-industrial

  • funky.

  • This song is awesome!!!

  • Epic song.

  • "The world's greatest mortuary"

sampled from Twilight Zone "Elegy" Season 1, Episode 20

  • SP was put out some of the most bone grinding shit ever heard....after 20 years still love it

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • its like a sick twisted chainsaw nightmare....but a good one ;P

  • A duck not Dead!!!

  • Personally, i'd say that Industrial is a rather vague genre. Its difficult to pinpoint exactly when it was made. Personally, I consider SP's Back And Forth EP to be the first industrial release proper, and what came before to be precursors to the genre. But really, that's just a matter of opinion, and one easily argued against.

  • Personally I think Kraftwerks "Autobahn" was the first industrial EP (released in 69) but as you say; it´s very difficult to pinpoint when it all got started. Maybe it all begun with Beethoven (using cannons as percussion in his symphony Eroica sure sounds like industry to me haha) Have a great day.

  • Autobahn, wtf. Autobahn is a 100 % krautrock album.

  • wow...this is just....wow.

  • great song!!

  • ur retarded, "real" is "taste" is "what u got used to" plain noize is music though if theres more than 1 sound(s) in it, so technically YOUR AN IDIOT. (im talking ike an brit thats why i insult for no reasons :)

  • More than one note I believe you mean.

  • That's not true. For instance - white noise.
