seeing this video now reminds me of Opening Day at Citi Field when walking down those narrow stair cases everyone started chanting "WE WANT RAMPS!!! WE WANT RAMPS!!!!" R.I.P. Shea
i mean, im in the midwest, but the Mets are on of my favorite teams, and i don't see why all of those people are cheering, they must be Yankee fans, and the Yankees can go and *insert many obscenities here*
@gullwing14 uh they are prob mets fans,,,they werent happy that its gone, but its just what you do sometimes when things come to an end...just wanted to cheer, for or with shea one last time
My whole childhood is gone in less then a few seconds... I always went to Shea on the weekends with my dad. And now its gone. The only thing that I am happy about is that they are marking down where home plate, the pitchers mound and the bases are in the now parking lot for Citi Field. So in a way I get to live out my dream of playing on "Shea's field".
Very sad. This is not only the place where I saw my first baseball game, but first pro sports game ever. And as a Mets fan, she will be missed. RIP Shea
I don't think the people cheering were necessarily anti-Mets. I think they were just the extremely insensitive and inconsiderate demolition crew, who were proud of their handiwork.

Sort of like a mortician gushing over the great job he did with a corpse in front of the grieving family.
