  • i don't like transmilenio is a stupid Bus :) i prefer ir en bus normal a 1000 pesos is very cheap and fast.

  • 5 Stars short Movie

  • trust me, I wanted to leave.

Amo a mi ciudad

  • J"AIME MON PAYS COLOMBIA TREE BELL.

  • wow just beautiful. I wanna go to Bogota ill hope this year,,, :)

  • I'm in Bogotá visiting now and I HATE IT, dark, cold, cloudy, scary, dangerous, dirty, garbage everywhere, impolite people on the streets, smells like gas everywhere. I wanna go back to MIAMI. It SUCCCKKKSSS....there is nothing DECENT here! Im w/ my grandparents in the south right now...i like the center better, and the north wayy better. Bogota needs help fast man, im going to the coffee zone soon in Armenia, quindio so im happy, prefer there better than this ugly place..

  • @UpForDanceroid SO!!!!! You r those kind of persons that go on a trip and it prefers 5 stars hotels, then go into the ghetto.... u r used to live ur live by just looking pretty things, come on.... you have to think way further than that... grow uP!!! btw... I just came back from my home town BOGOTA and LOVed IT!!!!

  • @xtrululux Dude, you judge me by my own personal opinion of Bogota??? Dude! You are the one who should grow up, I like colombia but not bogota in especific! Goodness, dont reply such hate upon a stranger online, you, GROW UP. I never go into ghetto, and yes, I indeed do love bogota I was born there, I was just having a bad day, I still think it needs some help.

  • @UpForDanceroid you´re rigth... sad and cold truth....

  • Colombia isnt just Cocaine and drugs..we are people too !

not everybody has a weed bag behind our hands.

respect us !! i love this videoo !!! LIKEES !!!

    RESPETEN ! Amo este video ! :D

  • So do Us a favor don't call yourself Bogotano or even Colombian becouse miserable toughs like yours really slows down progress in my hometown, I hope one day we break the chains and liberate from oppression so I can go back and live in one of the most wonderful places on the planet. Start believing in the country and give more importance to it's beautiful ppl!

  • ...after all the oppression, war, corruption, and fucked up stuff that happens there they still among the happiest people in the globe, that's why outsiders wanna stay because they come from an empty world where people suicide for little shit and Colombians are warriors that change many ppl way of think about this fake ass world we all live in!

  • @carajo99 you talk shit about my city because you haven't live outside son! I live in USA and in every city of the world there is poverty, corruption, hookers, dirty streets.traffic jams, robers, killas rapist and shit you say. But Bogota and Colombia is special because of it's people...

  • thanks for sharing an amazing video :)

  • I like how this guy makes no effort to pronounce anything correctly. If you plan to visit, make sure to find out the correct pronunciations of the things mentioned or nobody is going to understand you.

  • Well not the best advice this guy gives, when he says that you have to walk to el cerro de Monserrate.... that exact rute is famous for roberies! Yes you have to go there, but take the cablecar... Don´t walk!

By the Colombia is the best place in the whole world!!!!!!!!!!!

  • watch?v=iHtLwLLq5BY

  • basic salary average for a Bogota´s person 270 dllrs. :S

  • MY REPLY 2. and whores,and... yeah the only risk is stay longer but because of the terrible traffic jams! and it really amaze me how are you talking about the transmilenio... haha, is terrible seriously...

  • MY REPLY 3. And yeah we got a lot of museums and Bookstores but with almost a 45% of the people under the poverty line, who can take a trasnmilenio to go there? 1 Dollar : 1800 pesos. 1 way Transmilenio ticket 1600 pesos. Amazing we suck thats the truth.

  • MY REPLY 1. That was a very positive review of my City.. Thanks. However i have lived here the past 25 years and let me as you something.. how much?, yeah how much money did you get to say all that?.That is a Lie. Bogota is a dirty dirty City,With angry people everywhere trying to get one place or another, with a terrible transport system, a lot of smoke also.In the streets most part of the assphalt has been broken and with our very corrupt mayor nothing is done... Downtown a lot of robbers

  • @carajo99 Hey man sorry to hear that you dont like Bogota. Im British and have lived here for about 5 months now. Bogota is not perfect but overall I like it, good people and a good culture. Yes the traffic is terrible at times but no worse than the UK. Also to anyone considering coming Bogota is safe more or less, so long as you take care and dont walk around the backstreets alone at night. But maybe I will move in future, it rains too much here and gets cold at night.

  • @carajo99 u prefer happiness or.. money ?

  • @xtrululux Sadly in this monetary world you need the money , but obviously i prefer happiness... if i could just sit in a park without being afraid of being robbed or kidnapped or somehow attacked... is also as simple as throw the fucki** garbage in the can... at the end the simplest things in life makes you love something or makes you hate it and in this city no one seems to care.

  • I love how he says Medellin.

  • que transmilenio es rápido jajajajajaj

  • @421534 sabes?

  • German Escobar is great guy - I stayed at the Platypus Hostel and was priviledged to meet him.

  • @krisnnaabraham

Deja tu regionalismo a un lado. Ama a tu raza y ama a tu país.

  • Colombia was a real mess in the 90s

but know is amazing it have change incredibly

know is an awesome city were you can find culture organization

    and pretty parks

come to colombia and watch how it has change to a great city

  • Thank u for giving the real view of Bogotá, it's treasures and beauties.

  • what a contradiction, there are the rich white folks who fly there and make the people who leave Colombia for real, life threatening reasons, look really, really bad. Saying things like this rich bloke on the video about how wonderful it is and everything, yeah, it is wonderful when you got money and you don't happen to be a Colombian. Try living there and live the real way of life there, it's not the sugar coated life they picture you when you visit there.

  • What do you know about Colombians??? I don't really thing that's the way a person who's been to Colombia would speak. Im Colombian and can tell the guy says the truth. Anyway, even if you really hate reading this: COLOMBIA IS DEFINITELY SUGAR COATED!

    You ignorant!

  • @hectcuer85 You know anyone could say the same thing about any other country with issues. Like Malaysia or Indonesia, South Africa, France, Spain, England, Saudi Arabia, etc. No country is ever perfect, even in the United States if you're poor, you don't have much to live off of. So back off, enjoy the film, and learn something new for a change instead of criticizing everything.

  • One thing.. Bogota has been chosen as the main city = capital of Colombia and it is an awesome place where you can find it all. There's culture, history, tourism, education and plenty of things that make the city a complete place to live. AND FOR THOSE IGNORANTS who think that Colombia is all about drugs please go read, find out and broaden your knowledge before you can talk so negatively about the country. Colombia is a place where you can find the best coffee in the world and plenty more!

Pobre idiota.

  • gracias

  • @1:12 -- "Simon Bolivar who liberated BOLIVIA????"

  • Thank you for doing this video, many ppl is scared to come, but this country is great, thank you sooo much! : D

  • Javier11344 es un inutil!!!

  • Why does this world renowned guide book author and traveler have the worst Spanish pronunciation I have ever heard?

  • I Love bogota¡¡¡¡¡

  • You're right "the only risk is wanting to stay" because if you overstay in colombia, the immigration service is going to come after you until their officials put you back in a plane to your country as soon as possible...

  • This country is awesome, Bogota too. In Colombia the people have a hospitality shown in very few countries in the world.

  • An accurate view of Bogota and Colombia: "he only risk is to remain stuck there, charmed by the hospitality of its people and the beauty of its natural surroundings

  • i lov colombiaa i lov my city .. and i'm so proud to be from this country!

  • BOGOTA the greatest city in the world...CISF..

  • Bogotá is fckng great!!!!! my city!!! 100% ROLOO

:S jeje

  • @tommasokey Nope, he's an aussie (Ausztralia)

  • I loved Bogota .... I loved it so much I went back 6 months later ... Amazing !

  • i love bogota and i am so happy for be a colombian

  • me too

  • @magg9230 caca

  • I lOVE BOGOTA!

  • @DanishInstitute i walked the way down at sunset with a group of foreigners policemen that were coincidencially going down too... we had one very cool way down... like those surreal moments that can only happen in my country :)

  • If there is something that is completely true is tha the only risk of coming to Colombia is not wanting to stay longer but to stay forever!!!!

Colombia is passion , and I´m totally pruod of my beautiful country!!

  • You have to travell to diferents places in Colombia, rivers, mountains, volcanos, pacific, atlantic, many places to be in shock because this country is amazing......Bogotá is really nice but whe have more to see....

  • The main reason why "Transmilena" was chosen instead of the metro was not because of the money issue but because Transmilenio transports more people per kilometer per hour than 80% of the metros in the world AND it was also cheaper.

  • bogota the best

  • Medellin jajaja funny

Chao pobre hombre

  • I like the mood of this guy when he talks about Bogota. I don't like however the poor production compared with other videos from 'lonely planet' in other regiones. I thing the investigative work as well as the video produciton could have been better. Showing just pictures, no videos, and excesive camera presentation aint good for a work like this one.

  • i love this city... i wanna move away to living someday to there... wonderfull people

  • thanks for talking nice about colombia.....yea we have some safe places in bogota and the food is delicious and cheap(soups, arepas, empanadas etc) ..don't forget to stop in the gold museum ,the catedral de salt, and monserrate!

  • Bogota D.C. is only one of the thousends GREAT BEATIFULL PLACES to visit y COLOMBIA !!!

    COLOMBIA IS HEAVEN !

  • wow minus 6. i wish i knew what i previously written so i could reply, what a shame, anyone wishes to refresh my memory.

  • I'm from Barranquila (with its historical Carnival which, btw, ended yesterday), I've been living in Bogota for quite a few years. I find it really fascinating!!! :) Unbelievable to see this publicity about the city, it's really nice.

  • He failed to mention you to not have to hike up Monsterate. You can take a tram or the is a train also.

  • wow, great to hear news like that about colombia, finally things have started to change, wonderful im going back there im six months time to life, i cant wait any longer, al fin

  • I prefer Duda-Gracz paintings :)

  • im naked ;D

nom nom nom!!!!! hehekekeke I feel like cybring! HQ

  • welcome to colombia welcome to bogota the most wonderful city in latinamerica, beautiful women, the new future city, the new start for Us

  • Fat Naked People...LOL

  • He really butchered those pronunciations haha

    Monsterate

    Medellin

    Transmilenio

    etc.

  • Great vid.. see there you go world, people that include Colombia in their travels are not insane. Bogota is a great city, and this just scratches the surface. Glad he highlighted the bus system, it is probably the best of its type in the whole world (Bus Rapid Transit system) - it is very cool. One little thing: the mountain is spelled "Monserrate".

  • Cool, nice but just cover the Candelaria zone. The city is much more than that, North and the surrounding areas of the city. + the food + the street culture +etc.

Well, anyway very good to see they are at least promoting it a bit more.

Colombia, the only risk is wanting to stay!!

  • Great video, but agree with the other posters... big omission not mentioning the great food, from the small typical eateries to the world class restaurants of the G Zone and the T Zone. Still, its nice to see a video highlighting just a few of the positive aspects of this wonderful city!

  • He didn't mention the fantastic food. I miss that food sooo much!

  • Hi, i'm from Bogotá but i travel for all Latinmerica using Lonely Planet guide, now i'm living and studying in Buenos Aires. Just a thing to say... I LOVE BOGOTA, the people, the food, the weather, well i miss my city so much and i wanna to invit all the people to know my beautiful country and city. Is true that THE ONLY RISK IS WANTING TO STAY!!!.

    Sorry for my english.

  • your english sux parce :D

  • sorry i meant to do the thump up

  • Lovely pronunciation of Medellin there...

    Bogota is fantastic :)

  • Just a side note, La Candelaria neighborhood isn't safe at night.

  • True! Many homeless people who become robbers by the second you give them the chance! Of course, they might not be everyone but the youngers, watch out!

It's better La Zona Rosa, and many other nightclubs to spend the night at! Though, if you're returning back at your hostel in La Candelaria at night or by the early morning, make sure police are patrolling the area, or just don't give 'papaya' (don't use a scared face!) ;)

  • XDDDDD give papaya

  • Why would tourist prefer La Zona Rosa instead of La Candelaria ???

If they were looking for party all the time, they would go to Cancun, Tijuana, Thailand, Spain.

What attracts tourist from all over the world to Colombia is its real people, its flea markets, its museums, its historical places, its nature not so much its discos or bars, even thou there's always time for a good cold pint or glass or wine.

  • Yeah Osorious, I love Bogotá too.

  • That's true... I love this city
