god bless my dad had this done when he had cancer and he had some fun torturing us as kids when everytime he changed his bag he would empty it and then before throwing it away toke a blow dryer and aired it out oh boy did it smell and yes if you were wondering he did pass when i was 7 years old
you can change the bag any time of the day when it's convenient for you. I changed it every three days or if the seal around the stomach irritated me because of leak. To empty the bag, I wait until at least it's third full. Stool pass by peristaltic movement of the colon therefore you don't have any control and you barely notice when stool is passed in to the bag.

I had this surgery and this video would have been very helpful. I have since had a reversal and am now bag free. Thanks for sharing, I know from experience that this is a difficult issue to deal with.

what is the name of the powder you use because someone in my family has the same problem and they do not know haw to get rid of the iritations around the bag area thank you very much youre video hepled
@xelbob I am glad the vid is helpful. I used "Adapt Stoma Powder" Your family member can ask the Wound Ostomy Nurse for prescription of that powder.
1st wash and dry the skin around the stoma, them apply small amount of the powder to the irritated skin. They can reapply to coat the irritated skin. Brush off the extra powder. The powder stick to the irritated area but not to be left on the dry intact skin. Then apply the pouch as usual. They can apply the powder everytime they change.
