i'm an American (live just outside D.C.) but happened to be in London when the fountain was dedicated to Diana... anyway, we got there 2 hours early so were right up against the barricades, and we talked to a police officer (or at least he looked like one...) for the ENTIRE 2 hours. he was SO kind & friendly. the majority of people we met in England were, actually. i couldn't be prouder to be an American, but even i must admit our cities aren't too friendly.
