Your doctor is obviously not smart at all. Any good reputable doctor WILL tell you over and over again that drinking is NOT recommended during pregancy. There is NO known ammount that could hurt you baby, so therefor NO drinking during pregancy. Reserchers DON'T know what causes FAS for sure, so the best way to advoid it is to not drink AT ALL.

Why am I seeing some many incorrect facts on you tube lately? FAS only effects children bourn of alcoholic mothers not a moderate drinker. It has also been advised that a single glass of red wine once a week during pregnancy can do no harm to the child and in fact can be beneficial due to the anti oxidants present in the wine.

I am so with you. When I was pregnant, my ob/gyn told me clearly that a glass of wine, or 1 beer occasionally would have no effect on my son and he is perfectly fine! I wonder if alcohol or possibly the yeast of it could contribute to Autism at all. I know someone whose first child(which was conceived on their wedding honeymoon) has Autism.
