  • Can you make one for me

  • Why are you wearing nitrile gloves?

  • its not 808nm if the dont red...

    808 is ir

    650nm is red

  • @rat1a1tat1tat

IR light can be seen with a digital camera. Try pointing your camera at a TV remote control and press some buttons.

  • lame

  • wtf gloves?

  • 100mw 33$ forgot site in bookmarks ask I willgive u link

  • i have a 600mw laser its so cool!

  • this is a bit pricy for an 808nm...

  • magic

  • =O =)

  • why dont they weaponize this.....

  • againts geneva convetion to use lasers as weapons, it was actuly banned befor the nuclear NPA was signed

  • whyyy??? i think laser technology is a future of humankind.

  • kick ass !!

  • a laser i made at home cuts 1/4 inch plate steel

  • reallly?????????????????????show it plzz

  • Video or it didn't happen.

  • Make a vid of it then and post here on youtube :p

  • sugoi

  • what would happen if you would point it at the hair on top of someone his head

  • you have to stay close at the target

  • You behind bars is what would happen hahaha

  • Are you burning up your pubes and sniffing the smoke...I do!

  • Comment removed

  • weak laser... the material is highly combustible

  • its 400mw 808nm! idiot 808nm close to infrared does not look very powerful by the light but can light things up.

808nm is completly invisible to the human eye

  • so why can we see it?

  • 808nm is detectable by a camera.

  • Future U.S wepon!

  • Future weapon for every country...

  • How come green lasers have to be really bright in order to burn things, but purple ones and ones like these only show a small dot?

  • The dot size have nothing to do with anything. And the purple lasers you are reffering to may seem less bright because purple colours are on the brink of what wavelength the human eye can see. Because of this you need a lot of stimuli before it appears to be bright.

  • In other words, purple lasers need to be much brighter than green ones to appear equally bright to the human eye.

  • But red lasers are also at the brink until Infra Red, but we can see those just fine...

    Except in this video... :/

  • Comment removed

  • FireHax, this is a simple physiological phenomenon. The retina has rods three types of taps, each with different absorbtion wavelengths. Green is registered by all four types of cells, also this is the main wavelength by which the human eye determins brightness. Red is registered by both long and medium cones. Blue however is only detected by the shortest cones. This means that green stimuli by far will outshine any other colour when looking at experience per lumen.

  • He said near IR

  • I think your getting confused... red lasers are normally around 650nm which is well away from the brink of ir lasers lol.. thats 808nm. this video is not a red laser either its an 808nm laser.. it just may apear to have a redish dot.

  • Can 808 nm lasers burn WHITE paper/objects?

    No eh?

  • Yeah, they can

  • Sure?

    How many power it's needed?

    tnx

I'm searching for a laser that can burn white paper, son in the IR range but i don't know the wavelenght needed for this.

  • My 120mW violet laser can burn white paper. It takes around 2-3 seconds, and after the paper turns black it scorches it instantly. Of course this is when the laser is focused at one specific point. I do not have any experience with IR though, but I can say that 400mW will meet your needs to burn white paper.

  • Thanks. I will get uv hd-dvd/br laser soon so then i will try.

  • The longer the wavelength, the more effective it will be at burning materials until you encounter other rules like burning metals as opposed to organic materials. I have a little 150mw 808nm that is enough to burn white paper but you need to focus it to a fine point or aim for a speck of dust to start it. It's good that your son is in the IR range, he should be able to help if he can focus on the task at hand.

  • wtf, 808nm would be invisible

  • yeah because it s fake numbers

  • Lol, I bet you just think that you can change the pot, and disable some resistor, right? Because you can't do that. It'll just fry the diode.

  • No i do it a different way.... =P

  • No you dont. Because pot modding is the only way. And even if there was another, it would fry the diode as the diode is a "cheap 20 dollar" diode which cant handle a stronger current or voltage.

Your diode will break if you modify it to be stronger. Simple as that. And i dont think modding even makes it "expensive". The ammount of light coming out is the same, the increased mW is IR light which will blind you.

  • thats steel wool

  • Comment removed

  • He's burning steel wool. Not pubes.

  • looks like pubic hair, VERY flammable.

  • I hate people like you who say "oh just go get a lighter for 1 dollar" dude lasers are fun and the future

  • @1958j

Let me tell YOU something dude. Lasers are TOOLS...not even close to be a portable weapon (dont tell me to search for THEL and whatever).

    Oh and btw:

Check out my videos before you write an answer...

  • ir laser cause u to be blind unless if u have some type of safety gogles ur good but to much exposure to that laser can ruin ur eyes for life

  • only if you point it in your eyes retard

  • why dont you just buy a lighter from the corner store?

  • Do those NIR require a safety key, I think Ive seen those before, they dont go real far do they, still a cool way to burn shit without buying a 1000 dollar laser.

  • You gotta love how everyone on YouTube believes they're an expert at everything and they must vocalize it, huh?

This is a 400mW NIR, not red laser - I sell them for ~$300-350 including safety goggles. I ALSO sell 400mW green lasers - the prices are in the $1000-1200 range you claimed for red. I only offer good deals, if there wasn't a time and a place for this laser, I wouldn't offer it.

If you're gunna try to speak with authority here, you'd better have the knowledge to earn it.

  • @pseudonomen137 You can get a 500 mw greenie from O-Like for $500, that's overpriced.

  • @Konataismywiferofl I don't know the current state of the market too well, but keep in mind this video was uploaded nearly 3 and a half years ago.

I would bet good money that, 3.5 years from now, people would point and laugh at anyone paying as much as $500 for a 500mW greenie (a scary thought to get so much power, so cheap! but nevertheless my point stands)

  • 1000 to 1200 dollars! for a red! insane dude, i got my 200mw red for 58 bucks and it burns real good!

  • my bad i was thinkin green. i almost got a red 200mW for about 100 but damn 58 bucks thats badass

  • haha, i posted the website to the 200mw laser for 43 dollars now and it got deleted, tells you that its legit anyways pm me if you want to know more

  • showed up!!

  • Buddy, read the title... its 808 not 680, pay attention and color does not = power IR is actually far more effective then the other spectrum colors because it's so close to the heat range. where in the world are you buying red lasers at 400 MW for 1000? what are you using? pasos? yen? cause they sure are not dolars. for about $300 if you know what your doing you can make a 20 watt laser. " 20,000 mw "

  • did you get that from dragon lasers.

  • Lol, those scammers? No way! I have distributorship privileges for the manufacturer of these lasers and sell them from time to time so I put this vid up for show.

  • mW not Mw. Get some 'friggen' glasses.

  • its been 4 weeks since i orded it and it still hasent arived :/

hope yours arives on time :)

  • what does the different (nm) wavelength do??

  • coulor

  • Have you ever tried melting lead, like an airgun pellet or something, with this laser? Or would it dissipate heat too quickly? Excellent vid, btw!

  • i baught a red 200mw laser of DX 4 days ago, should arive in the mail by next week.

i cant WAIT :D coz my current green 30mw laser is stuffing up :(

sweeeeet vid man, ill make a video about my new laser when i get it :D

    5 stars

  • lol 1 mw + 680 nm + modding is a 200mw monster!

  • If you're going to show off your ingorance, please do so one other people's videos please. Sorry for being an ass, and I'm sorry you deserved it.

  • what do u mean

  • he means that "1 mw + 680 nm + modding is a 200mw monster!" makes no sense in at least 3 different ways :-"

  • oh you mean i should write

    1mw red laser + 680nm = a 100mw monster!

  • you would burn the diode straight away

  • i did it yesterday i burned through black duck tape!!!!!

    and its not broken...yet

  • what the hell is that supposed to mean? By the way, that is bullshit and those mods DON'T WORK

  • it did work :P

  • Nope, you can't mod red lasers. Unless you made a kipkay mod, which will break due to the lack of a driver. Now, be smart, and check out my channel :)

  • puggster u cheapskate

  • right i got a 50mw laser pen.. i really want one of these 400mw babies.. jeeeeez man

  • just get a 1500mw one out a steel plate laser cutting mechine, now that would be a fun laser

  • 1500mW is not nearly enough to cut steel

  • yeah, more like 700w

  • lol

  • thats entirely different though. a 150mw green laser will cut tape like butter, but will not be able to burn steel wool. this laser is pretty much at minimum specs to do this kind of thing, and its pretty remarkable

  • i whant 1 of those things!!!!or 2!!!or3!!!!or more than 10!!!!!

  • that laser is brutal

  • i fully agree pseudonomen people just talk shit and go i want one and is the beam focoused WHY DO U THINK ITS CALLED A LASER its not a torch

  • what did you do to the laser ?

the dot looks like its been focused to a burning point

kinda like a magnafiying glass and sun

is that all you do is refocus the lens?

    thanks

    oh i have a 5mw red laser

im planning of changing the diode with a dvd burner diode

it only cost £1 around $3 for the laser

its those imported ones from spain

  • you can't do that. the driver in the 5 mw is not suitable to drive the high powered dvd burner diode.

  • hmm i CANT FIND WHERE TO BUY STEEL WOOL LOL!!

  • Will steel woll really burn like that? Was it rusted at all?

  • course it will, try passing a electric current through steel wool and it will set on fire basically

  • wow is that beam constentrated or mabey just focused cause it dosent look that bright or is it just that type of laser?

  • Spyder II is not a pen-size laser (and all the Spyder IIs Ive tested were <205mW). There are stronger green lasers. The low price is because this is an 808nm laser, not a greenie. Every comment of yours shows your utter lack of knowledge about anything youre talking about.

I dont expect everyone to know everything, but dont you dare attack me about something you know nothing about; especially when its a hobby Ive devoted countless thousands of hours and dollars researching. "Get it straight"

  • btw, the Spyder II is NOT the most powerful handheld laser, Laserglow's Hercules series can peak at 500 to 600 mw and average greater than 425 mw.

  • How is that working on 400mW?

  • Why not?

  • My ignorance sorry, iv since done my homework.

  • very very cool.

  • is this spam?

  • Lmao;

He's burning pubes with a laser.

    Sweet :P

  • not pubes^^ steel whool

  • the most powerful laser of all is soon to come in to army

  • Does this company have a front end for purchasing these?

  • DAM! Thats a frigin weapon

  • Dude, burn something else ^^

  • fuck, let it burn man !

  • but its red... I dont get it

  • any color can burn. The key is to find a wavelength that absorbs into the most common surfaces... like IR.

  • owned lol.. cant wait to get my laser soon. I might get a rpl 200 from optotronics since wickedlasers are so damn expensive

  • This isn't a 400mW Laser! It's Only 75mW to 100mW!

    Fake... Fake.... Fake....

Visit LaserGlow . com or WickedLaser . com

To See What's a "Real" 400mW Laser Can Do!!!!

  • How do you figure? Wickedlasers are fake. This laser was made as a >400mW by the same damn company that make laserglow's products. Not to mention my Coherent Fieldmax II TO / PM3 head consistently measure these lasers in the 425-540mW range.

You got it the wrong way around: Check out wicked if you want to see a 75-100mW. This clip is what a real 400mW can do.

If you're gunna show off your ignorance by being an ass, can you at least do it on someone elses videos? Thanks.

  • o shit

  • Nice - you can also obtain this output by removing Nd:YAG+KTP crystal combo, but be careful, though - you should at least be experienced with DIY, since it's tough to get it working. I have done that several times, though - I also got to play with most exotic laser, a VCSEL diode! ^.^

  • The one I have is only 5mW. And you've got like a 500mW one. That would be amazing.

  • are you shur that the laser is 400mw??

  • Yes, it actually operates ~500mW. These test results were obtained on a calibrated Coherent Fieldmax II TO meter with PM3 sensor and confirmed with a Coherent LaserCheck.

  • pwned

  • Wow, my camera cost $89, and it sucks. o_0

You inspired me to make a IR laser out of my defective Classic, I removed the crystals, but I can't seem to be able to collimate this thing!

It seems to be around 200-300mW, but when I try to collimate it, I think I just get around 5-10mW of it.

Do these lasers use one or two collimating optics? My Pulsar uses a DCX lens, but my greenies use a DCX and a DCV lens.

  • Your camera has an IR-filter, right? My camera would just show up a weird, blu-ish dot.

That's pretty cool though, really makes me want an IR laser.

  • A regular IR filter would make the laser look invisible. A lot of cameras have IR filters, but not so strong that they will block out a strong IR laser. On my picture camera it also shows up as that odd blob, but this camera cost ~3,500USD so it had better render the colors right! :-D
