@robertgift Not dangerous? I could clearly see the stop sign was too far back and that a sign for an "attraction" or a "welcome sign" and a van were clearly blocking the driver's view. A truck driver would've been able to see over it, a driver of a honda civic (or similar, low-to-the-ground car) would not. I could also see the driver of the car did not stop (he rolled at 5 mph over the stop line, because he/she was paying too much attention to the TV news crew).

Likely thathe cameraman was already getting his cell phone out to call 9-1-1. Better shot would have been the reporter doing it on speaker phone so everyone could hear the drama.

@robertgift Yes, correct. What the car driver should have done (and didn't do) was to creep out just past the "welcome" sign so he could have that clear, unobstructed view you talk about. THEN he should have waited for the pickup to pass and proceeded catiously. It's clear the 4-wheeler is AT FAULT.

Also, you are right about it being more dramatic to watch the reporter pull out his phone and call 911 instead of the cameraman doing it.

The intersection looks misleading to drivers. The stop signs are back far and the distance of the road looks unusual. Notice how the van crossed seconds before the truck arrives. That intersection needs lights or redesigned.

nah,That stop sign is too far back from the road.Plus there is like a fence or sign that is sort of blocking the view.I gurantee that the car driver #1 couldnt see the truck comming,as the trucks pain kind of camoflauged it with the road #2 the stop sign was too far back from the road #3 the tv reporter was a distraction.If you look in the video, you can see that the view of the truck was partially blocked by the van that crossed the road, as well as other objects on the trucks side of the road.

As it seems there are row of trees in deep. Driver of red car couldn't see a dark color pickup behind trees and on background of dark asphalt. Then he is distracted by reporter and camera. Everyone pays attention when they see camera around. After that a white minivan blocks his view to the left again. Anyway it is his fault.

I heard that the use of headlights in American cars is must. If pickup had its headlights on, then it would be much easier to see it, even between trees.
