  • does performance differ alot between xp and win 7 crysis?

  • /watch?v=TsLoeTe2cQs

    Black Ops on the 1201n.

  • This is OnLive

  • @TimoTXM Has Crysis Warhead even been released for Onlive yet?

  • one day.....one day a 10 inch netbook will be running crysis on ultra. *dreamy eyed*

  • @Griesmayer uhh m8 its possible look up m11x

  • @mattymed69 the m11x cannot run crysis on ultra fluently.

  • @mattymed69 the m11x can't run crysis on even gamer settings, let alone enthusiast

  • You can hack ion le to full ion so that it can support direct X 10

  • wow, i can't believe it. i run crysis on my asus g73jh-a1 but i also have this netbook. good to know.

  • I think I might get this one if I ever buy a netbook (doesn't really look like it atm)

  • what OS will fit this lap? Can u tell me the period time of using this lap under:

    - Windows XP

    - Windows 7

    Thank you :D.

  • @polyvinylclorua

WinXP is faster but if you buy it you'll get Win7 on it

  • ION LE is the same as ION, meant for XP machines only. It's exactly the same as the ION, but some features have been locked out driverwise. It's easily hackable to be a regular ION.

  • its french

  • Wow that thing does great for a netbook haha. I have an Alienware m11x and it sucks hard on Crysis..

  • l think you need updated driver, lower and widescreen resolution (848x480 vs...)... For exm. I am using 960x540 for valve games. l found this resolution last month and i get good performance for many games...

  • Russian or German?? Lolzz, fucking tard.

  • this ist francais :)

  • Also textures settings DO NOT affect performance, polycount DOES

  • Tested on my 1201N (RAM 2 GB, HDD 250 GB, CPU 1.6GHz, GPU 500MHz, Win 7 32bit)

Settings: almost all on Mid, physics on High, few console tweaks, res 1366x768, high-res textures, no mods

FPS: 25+ (0.2 million polygons on the scene); 15-25 (0.2-0.5 mil polys); 5-15 (0.5-1 mil polys) 5-10 (1+ mil polys)

Average FPS: 5-20 (quite enough smooth to play)

GPU needs higher clocks, CPU is ok

I think Crysis is playable on tweaked Win XP x64 with OC'd GPU and CPU, 4GB RAM and tweaked game

  • your really holding this computer back. Get the full 4 gigs of ram and install a 64 bit os on it. Crysis warhead uses as much as possible right now your holding the game back and only getting half of it's capabilities. This video is really misleading

  • your crazy dude that laptop sux hard lol

  • @johnathon956 dummy, its a netbook...

  • yes hi do suport 64 bit n450 is 64bit procesor and 330 suport 64 bit

  • what do you think the fps would be if you added 64gb ssd and 4gb mem?

  • @mespenlaub great video good sir.

  • Wow this is good for a netbook! I have an alienware M11x with a worse CPU (1,3Ghz dual core -,- OC'd to 1,73Ghz) but with an nvidia GT335M. I run crysis with average 28 fps, tweaked it myself, most settings would be medium to high.

Still very impressive for a netbook, bet it runs mw2 at medium settings...

  • @thomasAspalas your cpu is alot better than a dual core atom

  • i've installed winxp x86 on my 1201n and now the games run much better.. for example, cod mw2 runs like +15fps against win 7

  • Hey, you think the notebook works better (for gaming) with win xp? Thanks

  • @jpmermoz : Yes ! He did =)

  • @jpmermoz

Not really, With windows 7 you get both DX10 and DX9.

If you were to force DX9 on win 7, you could get more FPS than windows XP with DX9.

  • @jpmermoz

xp = directx 9, running lower directx increases framerate with reduce quality a bit

  • Wow! Now this is a powerful netbook.

  • whats the language Russian or German

  • @ALIKALVERT Pretty sure it french man

  • @ALIKALVERT : French xD

  • Comment removed

  • @ALIKALVERT

LOL that was a good one :D :D

  • @ALIKALVERT hahaha

  • the wind u230 w/ its 3200 graphics chip could go as high as 25 frames with Crisis at low settings in win7 so that shows how important the cpu is in gaming the 1201n in win7 didnt perform as well

  • @WAMoralesIgnacio keep in mind that Crysis is less demanding than Crysis Warhead even on lowest settings

  • @TheOnlyDuST thats simply not true. they made warhead less graphical demanding due to the large number of people who couldn't play the first game.

  • @Blackeyedpanda69 tell that to my laptop... and my friends laptop as well... Crysis plays right much better on our laptops than warhead

  • the wind u230 w/ its 3200 graphics chip could go as high as 25 frames with Crisis at low settings in win7 so that shows how important the cpu is in gaming

  • i finished crysis on this netbook. the game was kinda meh, but the ending was EPIC. time for warhead.

  • It's a dual core, but it has hyper threading, it's a lot like a pseudo quad core!! This particular ION is like having the 9400M couple with this pseudo quad core, and it's playing crysis, rather well, even if it's low settings.

  • WOW! This computer is better than my stationari computer im sitting at right now :P But it is kinda old tho. geforce 6600 videocard and 3.2 ghz singel core :P LOL at my computer :P

  • In case some of you don't know the ION chip is nearly identical to the 9400M found in macbooks and imacs/mac minis. It's a very decent IGP. The only thing ION can't do that the 9400M can is DX10--ION is limited to DX9.

  • Hi, no ION can DX 10, but ION LE can't !

  • I really like your videos. I just bought this netbook myself, and thse really help justify my purchase.

  • @adal57600 actually ION LE can do DX10, but only in Windows 7

  • @AndehX : Hi, no only with the ION, not tjhe ION LE. ION can do DX10 on Vista and 7 ;)

  • @adal57600 you do realise that ION and ION LE are the same thing... under Windows XP its ION LE, in Windows 7, its ION.

  • @AndehX : absolutely not, I know because I tested

  • @adal57600 they are the same thing lol. What you have to do is flash the ION LE, to change it to a full ION.

  • @adal57600 Wrong. AndehX is correct. ION LE is simply ION under Windows XP with DirectX 10 removed from the same exact chipset.

  • @XLshiftR8 the 9400M is really the same chip. The ION is DX10 but however like all intergrated graphics is limited by the cpu which in this case is an atom. This would also be why a weaker 8200M G is faster because it is not used with atoms but instead normal processors. And gpu test run my laptops processor upto 100% no matter what (doesnt have to be a game but a simple non playable HDR lighting tech demo or something) So my 8200M G would be even faster once I put a dual core in my laptop

  • It can run XP ?? , I am sold!!! Getting this soon! Thanks

  • I'm surprised at how well this netbook copes with games :o

Does anyone know what size the hard disk is? Not the capacity, but the fysical size. I have an ssd that I would like to use. Is it 2.5 inch? And what is the thickness? Most common is 9mm, but the thinner netbooks sometimes use 7mm. And is it s-ata?

    So, in short: S-ata? Thickness?

  • i wonder it with 4 gb!!

  • This has to be the best 'netbook' in the world for under $500, thanks Asus!

  • if you want get 8% more power in games instal win xp 64 bit its work on asrock with ion and atom 330 chip was tested on most games schuld work with asus 1201n

  • thank's ;)

  • @pslestat Idiot!! Atom doesn't support 64bit.

  • Atom N330 support 64 Bit ;)

  • @adal57600 fuck you're right

  • you realize that this is a netbook

if you help a cpu or break a motherboard you cant replace it like on a regular computer........

built in graphics card.... so if you break it then you break your motherboard...

basically everything is built into one to save cash so if 1 thing breaks... well all of it breaks..... $500

  • @Kadda67 the new atoms run 64bit idiot!

  • hoyl shit it actually fucking works!!!!

  • Im debating between the Toshiba T135-S1309 vs. Asus 1201n. Performance wise what packs a better stronger result? What would handle games and HD better? The Toshiba has a 1.3 GHz Intel Pentium SU4100 and a Intel GMA 4500MHD ghraphics card. What advantages and disadvantages does the Toshiba have over the Asus 1201n because they are comparative in price? Thanks

  • The 1201N is far superior to the Toshiba. Although the Toshiba packs a more powerful cpu, the gpu on it is aweful and the nividia ion(9400m) is quite a powerful card even when paired with the dual core atom. You will find better performance with the 1201n, and the 1201n is lighter, smaller and more portable. A intel gma is not dedicated so it probably wont even be able to run the latest games and may freeze at load up. The Ion can run all newer games at lower settings.

  • It depends for games you'd better choose the ION because it has an 9400M Nvidia gpu which is stronger than the GMA 4500 MHD. The SU4100 has more cache and could be used for some heavier tasks tha the atom. But if I were you please choose the Asus 1201N

  • That's just freaking awsome! :)

  • wow thats insane. i never knew that crysis would ever run on this. cod 4 does at a steady 30 FPS WITH fraps, so a nice 40 without.

  • so I reckonthat would be possible to play pes2010 withmore fps, am I right?

  • of course !

  • thats good , what about GTA 4? tks

  • Sorry I dont know, I didnt have this video game.

  • i have this netbook and it's amazing

i played the san andres very smoth ^_^

    also crysis , nfs carbon , undercover , cod4

    awesome machine :)))

  • with 2gb of ram??or did you upgrade it?im getting mine's this wknd but im planning on getting 4gb, do u think it'll make much difference??

  • 4 the games i mention 2gb all you need

for sure 4gb upgrade the performance but not so much in this netbook

with the 2gb all the programs running smooth and AT THE SAME TIME

firefox , icq , skype , mssenger live , flash games in facebook etc.

but also i plan to get 4gb ^_^ not now

  • The problem with this is not the graphics card or ram, its the CPU. It bottlenecks it. An increase in RAM would help somewhat however because the 1201n is always sharing its RAM with the Ion graphics (you cant prevent that), so by default u are losing some ram to the hungry Ion chip at all times. So u cld put more RAM to off set that, somewhat.

But the main problem would still remain, the lack of CPU power, but at least its dual core. Overall though - V IMPRESSIVE from Asus!

  • @majdaldeen87 if it runs cryis then that means ur really gud too go fucken that game has the most fps

  • @majdaldeen87 is it a good gaming computer just asking because im maybe gonna buy this computer,so i need a little information.

  • @94svenni its a netbook so NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • @matty12345a1 its a netbook with a great gamecard and cpu!!!!!!

  • @94svenni a duel core running at1.66ghz

a nvidia ion with 512mb of ram

thats a media pc not a gaming pc
