@tracysigler surgons like this are frakin gods! very few other profissions require such skill. if you realize how steady their hands are they would also be very good on a bomb squad.
@tracysigler You are a very brave person.. Seeing their own open brain is really a courageous act.. Hope you are doing fine.. and this Dermoid cyst never recur. My niece had also dermoid cyst from birth, but luckily it was outside the skull. It did not go inside the brain and was easily removed. It contained hairs and cheese-like material..
It may look like hes being speedy but in fact this is probably only a fraction of the time spent on the surgery. Hes taking his time. You do NOT want to fuck up with brain surgery. One false move and you cut into the white matter and you forget how to do math. The void left over after the cyst is removed wouldve been enclosed by the rest of the brain, taking up the space that was pushed out by the cyst. I do hope youre better. Good to hear the headaches are gone
I would like to see how the skull is removed, and then how they put it back. Do you know if there's any video out there on the internet where they show the process?
@bye5225 Yeah, when they saw a big hole in your skull then screw it back together there is usually some soreness. Not sure what would happen if left alone, but I wasn't going to find out.
i noticed in your video it said " the doctor put that there to keep my brain cool" or something along those lines :b what happens if the brain doesnt stay cool???
@blacklabel254 I suppose something similar to when you overheat in any other situation. Heat stroke? Dunno. Maybe the lights in the OR create some heat.
how did even develop in the brain? ok, i read that it is some sort of bubble (something similar to cancer) that is hollow and may contain growing hair, fat, bone tissue, and etc. is it really true? if yes, it is scary
@aizik2005 Yes, that's what dermoid cyst is. It's congenital. Certain types of cells can just end up in the wrong place at some point after conception. E.g. skin cells in the brain.
@aizik2005 No. It was on the front left. I also had a colloid cyst in the 3rd ventricle. See the blog for more details. The link is on my channel page.
Can I just ask something dumb? I know they give pain medication, but did you feel pain that you could differentiate between maybe the brain and the skull?
@02yellowgt For surgery like this you're under a general anesthesia, completely out. So you're not feeling anything. Also, the brain does not feel pain directly.
@xxxbustedsoulxxx Honestly I can't remember. Probably months for the swelling and scar ridge to fade. The incision healed pretty quickly, not sure about the bone.
Jesus Christ i hate blood and surgeries but i can't stop watching! Some of it is so interesting, and this is coming from someone who almost passed out looking at the scars on my knee from getting 2 rods inserted into my femur

Sorry the continuity isn't perfect. The whole surgery was over 9 hours. These are the few clips I got from the docs. The endoscopic part was first, then the dermoid. Glad you found it interesting.
i'm curious how this is possible, that doctors can tamper with brain and there is still no damage. i've always thought that the brain is the most gentle thing ever.
Check my blog for more details. As it was explained to me, the brain tissues are very soft and separate easily. Was yours noticeable on the bridge of your nose? My 13 month old was diagnosed nasal dermal cysts and they have to check to see if it leads through the cranium ith an MRI.
