  • lol OOOMg class would be over by the time this thing boots up if u tried to whip it out to take some quick notes.:(

  • Everex has got to be one of the worst companies. I learned the hard way with the XT5000.

  • how well does this run?

  • This is truly slow. I'll probably keep it in standby mode or speed it up, somehow. I guess I'll dl the new gOS

  • you know tht actually fix the promblem for tht PC youll to download the NEW GOS OS for umpc

  • Does the Cloudbook come with the gOS on a CD for re-installation purposes? If so, somebody should copy it and upload it to the internet (preferrably seeded on BitTorrent).

  • You can download it from thinkgos [dot] com

  • Okay......is the GNOME version of gOS available for download yet?

  • Apparently not...

I think the GNOME one mihgt of only been for the Cloudbook, but that is highly unlikely.

  • Well i just posted today on the official gOS forum as Cafelinux that those who want a GNOME gOS recovery disc need to download and install Remastersys 2.0.2 and execute the command "sudo remastersys gos-gnome-i386.iso" and then burn the disc image to CD or DVD (CD if under 700 MB, DVD if over 700 MB). You'll need to use your regular user name and password when running the new CD/DVD "live".

  • This is too slow.

Everex should've compiled a version of gOS for the Cloudbook.

  • gOS was always a little finicky.

I had two different (non beta) distributions of it and it just sometimes does not like to work right. I'd give it a 3/10 on the efficiency scale.

  • The thing is though, is that this now uses GNOME instead of E17, which should mean that it's more stable (but much, much, much slower). GNOME wasn't the best choice for a computer with these specs, they should of used XFCE like Dreamlinux, which is ridiculously fast on my 1999 IBM T20.

  • True, they should have cut it down a bit.

Ah Dreamlinux, good choice! I love Dreamlinux, its a lot like the gOS in its GUI but more well laid out.

  • You can put other OS's on the cloudbook... this is built off ubuntu which on the eeepc also takes a while to load. Still this is MUCH longer than I head/what it should be.

  • Goddamn slow. But read on other review it takes actually like forthy to fifthy seconds to boot.

  • My god, it's terrible it's so slow.

The eeepc is way better even with xandros or XP
