I just changed my brake pads using this video as reference! Thanks so much! By the way, since I didn't have a c-clamp, i wanted to mention that a bar-clamp also seems to work quite well.
most videos just give instructions, especially for the depression of the calliper, you provided justifiction which is very useful, you are a good teacher, continue to make more car repair videos.
All men watching this need to understand how important being a father is!! Wow!! Rich or poor, a FATHER is CRUCIAL!! Fathers and Sons!! Be a father to your child if you have one!!
@yeshu26uk just finished my brakes; used a jack, tire iron, rubber mallet (to help get the bolts unstuck; I don't have much brute force so I resorted to physics), wrench (I used monkey wrench with metric size 15, your mileage may vary), screwdriver (for helping to remove the caliper), and brake grease (this should only be applied as directed in the video, but makes things much easier to get back together). These things are the bare minimum in my experience.
Your video was very detailed, explaining what I believe is accurate information for people to learn, like myself, to properly take on this job. I've been watching other videos, One guy added oil/grease around the bleed valve, so that if there is build up rust or anything so you don't break the valve as well as no air to get in. Not sure if that is true.
im changing the pads on my Peugeot 206 .. i have no problem changing them but i am just wondering do you have to bleed the brakes or is it only if you lose fluid ?
Has antbody tried Callaghan brake pads I went to some store back east called Zalinsky Auto Parts that use to carry them but they do'nt anymore hmmm....
question, when changing the pads, do you HAVE to put on the lubricants? and if so, do you put it on the surface of the pads that are touching the rotors or the surface that is against the caliper?
Well done you, great video. Thanks a million.
