Fantastic song & arrangement. Bass, drums, brass, and vocal duet are all smashing. I love that McCartney style melodic bass playing up high on the neck. The turn arounds between vocal phrases are awesome, funky & surprising. I like that mood change at 2:52 where they shift into swing, along with the mood changes at: 0:21 (ballad into rock), 0:36 (subtle shift from rock into funk), 2:12 (funk into Andy Williams/Lawrence Welk influenced choral).
I love that patented D&M vocal duet, with Donny jumping around on the harmony and D&M joining together on those unisons on the word Christmas-TIIIIIIIME. I've heard D&M duet arrangements that didn't work, but this one is awesome and works 100%.
Donny is adorable when he yells "IT CAN'T" at 4:40, a less likable person might have crossed over into "annoying" on that line. Marie blows a line and then breaks character at 4:46 but Donny smoothly continues and the take is saved.
