Actually the founding fathers were not libertarians. Yes the founding fathers was into limited government, but back then a small government can be really small and still function, but in a modern society small is actually the large government 150 years ago.

As knowledge and science make advances to make our society more advanced and complex we would need to adapt in order to survive.

The Founding Fathers were great, but they were not always right since they don't live in our time.

You can't have a functioning society without a central regulating body, because people are selfish and greedy by nature. The rich get richer and poor get poorer - capitalism runs itself into the ground. Lack of a government would only result in corporate oligarchy, which is precisely what the US is turning into. The government is not our enemy, ignorance is.
