This song is sexist, juvenile and insulting. Who ever wrote this has obviously never set foot in a library. It's not a librarian's job to look sexy. Being a librarian is sexy enough. This song is just based off an ignorant stereotype.
Not to mention it's also really dull and repetitive. It's lyrics are insipid and it's just difficult to listen to.
@ickaru Did you listen to the song? It tells a story of how he wants to be with the Librarian. Its a compliment to her. On top ot not understanding the song. You are a fuck face that does not know anything about music or talent.
@ickaru Who ever wrote this comment obviously has a mind so narrow you can slip it under a door. The song is sexist, juvenile and insulting? Not in this universe. It's just a touching, simple tale of a man's attraction to a woman.
But this post doesn't surprise me. YouTube is littered with comments written by people who will use any opportunity to push their agendas.
@seth2186 Impossible, sir. Dondante is by far the best song EVER, much less just written by Jim James. Bermuda Highway is definitely in my top 5 favorite MMJ songs though.
Really though, they used to be more or less a straight country band, but their sound has absolutely evolved. When you're writing country albums then playing prince covers live, you're a sufficiently eclectic band.
When MMJ first started coming around (particularly in Kentucky) he was interviewed by a local radio station and Jim James said that he did base a lot of his sound from Neil Young. He said that before the band was started, he and a couple of members watched the sun rise while listening to Neil Young's Harvest Moon, and it inspired them to pick their sound and start a band.
just proves that folk, rock, and blues, are all still alive and well inside MMJ. Jim James and the gang are geniuses, and Jim kinda reminds me of a new David Crosby in a way
l waana see what the female librarian looks like!

My fav lines of this song! Pure genius!
"What is it inside our heads
That makes us do the opposite,
Makes us do the opposite
Of what’s right for us.
‘Cause everything be great,
And everything'd be good,
If everybody gave,
Like everybody could."
