  • ok, those few brits would get ripped apart in less then 1 minute in this situation, this is more hollywood-inspired then realistic.

some mg-bursts and handgrenades and they would be gone BUT! its a nice production with good effects, you know, for a "homemade" video, i have to say ;-)

  • @TheTemplar117 lol, did blackadder inspire the very last bit =)

  • @deadontherunway this indeed is pleasing to hear as a British Citizen. I would also like you to know that should Canada or New Zealand or any other former commonwealth country ever go to war we shall support you in turn. your sacrifices in the world wars have not been forgotten, and we have a debt to repay

  • This is awesome, great work on this! Very touching and heartfelt.

  • To be completely honest this looks like a video someone made in their back yard.

  • @TheTemplar117 Well, it was shot on video so you are correct with that assessment. And if your backyard is a huge piece of farm land... then sure, we shot it in our backyard!

  • @TheTemplar117 how big is your backyard ? lool !

  • Also the Cdns didn't seize the Merville Battery, that was a Brit Battalion given that task, the Canadians covered the retreat of the Brits to the fall back position at the Le Mesnil crossroads. And yes, the helmets do look like bowls, they were specially made without the common lip of the Brit/Canadian mk. II 'Pudding bowl" style helmet to not foul the rigging lines when jumping out of the plane. Commonwealth tankers and dispatch riders used helmet shells of the same design

  • The Canadians were extremely proud to be incorporated into the 3rd Para Brigade of the 6th AB Div, as part of the British Army. It was a tricky situation to get the legalities straightened out, but 1 Can Para was one of the most favoured Battalions in the 6th AB for being tenacious fighters as well as being one that could be relied on. Some of the first boots on the ground were actually Canadian boots, who were given the task of securing DZ "V" for the rest of the 6th AB Div

  • ...and if you are the kind of troll that is going to argue with internet based proof (because anyone can host a website, right?) then I'd also point you towards the books "Tip of the Spear" and "Out of the Clouds" which are both histories written about the little known Battalion. There was also a Global TV special produced a few years back with actual interviews of the veterans themselves discussing their experiences during WWII

  • So to comment on some of the mis-information being shared about the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion.....you are more than welcome to visit 1canpara.com, where you will find a brief history of the Battalion, as well as actual wartime photos that will verify both the fact that the Paras jumped into Normandy on the evening before D-Day, as well as the fact that they are NOT wearing German helmets, but British mk. II paratrooper helmets.

  • @tonyndbutt ok just because Canadian paratroops were trained to the standards of British paratroops means they were incorporated into a British division that dropped into Normandy? That's bull crap. And just because it's a reenactment means the stuff is authentic? Get some better evidence. I mean have u even seen a German paratroop helmet?

  • @tonyndbutt ok they landed in Normandy on Juno Beach. Canadian paratroopers never dropped into Normandy. Look it up. And those are German paratroop helmets

  • @lovatojonasfan1 The 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion was trained and equipped to British Airborne standards, and thus was easily incorporated in to the British 6th Airborne Division. As a result, when the 6th Airborne jumped in to Normandy, so did the Canadians. The battalion was given the task of capturing and destroying the Merville gun battery.

And the helmets are not German. This is a 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion re-enactment unit and their stuff in genuine.

  • @tonyndbutt Canada Australia and many other nations that still see the english royal family as their queen will fight next to the UK and model their military accordingly

  • Ok two things. 1. Canadians didn't jump into Normandy. 2. Those helmets were German paratroop helmets.

  • @lovatojonasfan1

    1) Yes, they did! 2) No, they aren't.

  • are you canadian because it looks like canadian paratroopers with the lee enfield

  • Nicely done good explosions!(were they real?) where is the muzzle flash?!?! Haha anyway ive been trying 2 figure this out 4 a while but how do you make the actual effect of bullets wizzing by? What editing program did you use? Please msg me your responses!

  • There's a great documentary about 1CanPara; it details all their operations in the European theatre. (They never faced the Japanese.) They were the first unit sent home (after V-E day) and they were disbanded after that. The only CDN unit that never lost an objective or ground that they had taken. Don't know about other countries, but not many units can say that. Also one of few CDN units to serve in Germany (most were in Holland, Belg. Fr. & Italy) "Every one an emperor"-Monty's words.

  • I thought normally when a mortar round or whatever explosive round that was hits right in front of you, you die, or at least become mortally wounded.

  • Their helmets look life bowls.

  • I have a question: Where was 1 CanPara based? Like, was it just a western battalion or was it national.

  • i noticed that some of the para dont have jumpwings on their smocks lol, i am portraying that unit actually, and a damn fine unit hey were, but the 1 Can para did not face the 12th SS that was the 3rd Cdn Div

  • Comment removed

  • @davo1193 It's a fictional tale.

  • @tonyndbutt i know budd but well done either way

  • actings abit shit tbh but hey :)

  • currently serving with 3PPCLI, great vid man!

  • motor rounds are bigger than that :)

  • Shoots at the tree. "Where's that coming from?"

"The fire's coming from the trees.

    No duh

  • canadians r so awesome

  • how did u do the dirt explosions

  • i thought it was really wrong with someone with that accent saying sixpence with bolt action rifles and was badly casted...then realised they were canadians

  • OH THE IRONY! "You'll never live to see chicago win the cup again." BLAM! Jimmy gets shot and dies.

  • at 4:46 did he say "frack"? lol.

  • 6:02 This is not a Mauser!

  • 1CanPara did not face SS troops during the Normandy campaign, especially not on D+1.

  • @Maisies1944 Dood, this is a fictional story but thanks for the history lesson.

  • @Maisies1944 actually they sid since an ss officer kurt myer was sentened to hang for killing about 20 canadians during a battle in normandy

  • @haleymadimckenzie Nope, 12th SS murdered Canadian soldiers and officers from the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, nowhere near where 1CanPara and the 6th Airborne Division were at the time of the murders.

  • @Maisies1944 oh my mistake i thought you where speaking about the canadians in general thanks i just learned somthing new :)

  • @haleymadimckenzie Glad I helped :-)

  • gut, aber mit diesem Betrag des Feuers diese Soldaten getötet wurden kommend gegen Waffen-SS

  • Hahahah i just noticed. The sound effects are from saving private ryan. YOu can hear Tom Hanks scream "hold it back" or somethin at 3:50.

  • @SvenSwanProduction You should have read the more info and there you would have found out where the TEMP sound effects track came from.

  • @SvenSwanProduction dude, you gotta get what you can from wherever you can. My friends and I made a vid like this and we recorded the SFX from call of duty 3.

  • @SvenSwanProduction ya it was "covering fire!" form the d-day landing scene

  • @SvenSwanProduction i think he yells ''over the sides" ...

  • @SvenSwanProduction rofl nice

  • THe explosions were damm good. You should make a Tutorial for that.

  • ye i know but........EPIC OWNAGE!!!

  • C to the ANADA!!!

  • poor guy them Naxis nailed him..............if only he knew he would die*flashback* When you get home give this to my wife. ummm I'm not going home but maybe I can throw it in the direction before I get shot at almost point blank range,is that ok?

  • LOOK LIKE IT DONE IN MY BACK YARD?

  • @KamikazesVaj You have a 40 acre backyard as well? Awesome!

  • @KamikazesVaj then your backyard is pretty big

  • -.- as an low budget short film it was really good, specifically the authenticity of the weapons and outfits you didn't half ass them like most. But as both a college student going for a masters in history and a writer and editor for short films it really pains me to see some of the problems in this. But still compared to most this is a gem.

  • Best way to understand how a battle goes, join the military.

  • best ww2 short film

  • hate germans

  • @Lfcfanish

    Germans hate you!

  • that was great

  • Very good work!!!

  • I DON'T EHY BUT AT THE END IT MAID ME CRY

  • nice!!!!

  • that is amazing dude i sooo want to do something like that in the future and its realy

inspired me so do it thanks! 50/10!

  • When's part three coming out

  • love the photoshop bullets...

  • @KristinDuBois That wasn't done in photoshop. That was done within the editing software.

  • really nailed the Saving Private Ryan feel

  • This is a great vid, where's the rest? Watching this was like eating Chinese food, five minutes later I want MORE!

  • raf didnt drop canadian

  • the canadians were way better fighters than that

  • that was pretty epic.

  • yeah cool and all but who let you blow the shit out of that field

  • @BYAcommand

We asked the owner of the land if we could use it to film the battle scene and he said yes! He was even on set for most of the shoot!

  • @tonyndbutt

that was funny "Face it Jimmy you're never gonna see chicago win the cup again "

    "Ya Know but.."BAM!

  • @tonyndbutt

That's awesome! Nice work. Just needed a little more military ed on the guys moving around like that, especially under fire. This war hardened Germans would have shot the crap out of those guys if they just tried to escape like that :D

  • great vidoe

  • good job comrades :)

  • Absolutely brilliant, well created :)

  • Airsoft battle? cause those guns dont have muzzle flashes or recoli lol

  • @Blody1337

    Not airsoft. Blanks

  • They should have accepted fire from the woods. The acting was not good.Since the British were pinned down the Germans could make a move and kill them all.The other guy that was shot in the chest should have died immedietly.I liked the effects though.

  • @TheFlak36

    C-A-N-A-D-I-A-N

  • @tonyndbutt i thought they were dressed as british troops !

  • @grantourismo0109The graphic at 0:25 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion!

  • @TheFlak36

No actually he wouldn't it would depend on the round he probaly would have time to say his last words

  • @TheFlak36 you an idiot...british AND commonwealth countries wore the same stuff

  • @COD4K1LLER I know that very well.

  • Great video guys! Nice to see a view point of the Canadians instead of just British or Americans!

Low-Budget or not this was great! Keep up the good work!

  • @BOT101st I liked it too thought it was awesome i'd like to do something like this to

  • great video what is the name of the song in the beggining and check my war movies out some time =D

  • also canadians would kicked the hell out of those germans easily. no way would they hav gone through all that and lose

  • terrible. those weapons are aisoft you can hear it when they are fired and the one gun if its supposed to be a springfield at least get a properly looking bolt action it looks like an arisaka

  • Why those idiots are passing through an open field?

  • Is this Action Essentials?

  • well i think its pretty bad ass for a homemade video :) goob job guys ;)

  • it was pretty entertaining. congrats on this vid. its awesome compared to the shit that most people make.

  • great better than the first viddeo

  • Seems like private Ryan became private Tomy Atkins and not so well acted

  • @carlos45703030

If you're going to be a smart ass at least spell Tommy correctly.

  • The acting in this is pretty awful... But other than that it's quite cool :)

  • i like the WWII era kit it's a repro? yes or authentic and also well done on the tracer fire too well done guys good job if you made it black and white and etc,, you could probably made a remembrance video but all said well done

    well done well done

  • first off mr directorturnerable. u hav nooooo room to talk. where are ur vids with 300000+ views....oh wait thts right u hav none....

anyway number 2 this is soooooo legit. no lie, crazy good

  • Disney channel?

  • @Haophil

    Huh?

  • 1:36 i see the bucket.

was proably going to be removed though.

  • hahaha great saving private ryan audio track did anyone else hear tom hanks screaming "over the side"

  • @geordies4990

    Congrats Captain Obvious!

  • @tonyndbutt not my fault you made a terrible film bro try using a less obvious audio track

  • @geordies4990

Boy you're clueless, bro. Did you even take a moment to read the info underneath the video, bro?

  • @geordies4990 who fucking cares if i read it or not your movie still sucks balls and btw fuck canada

  • @geordies4990

That's the mature response, bro. BTW, if you HAD of read it (but I imagine that you are illiterate) you wouldn't have come across as such a tool! And your response above just proves my point!

  • @geordies4990 cut the man some slack, he isn't Warner Bros. yeah know, this is good

  • @DirectorTurnerable

    Thanks!

  • @tonyndbutt People think that if theres not a $50 million budget, man made stuff can't be god!

  • @DirectorTurnerable thats not true at all this sucks because it is not realistic what so ever you have guys being fired upon running ten yards then stopping and kneeling rather than hitting the floor and then they go another ten yards then one takes a bullet to the chest and has enough time to hand his commanding officer a pocket watch its poorly acted, directed, filmed everything i bet you would still make a shit film with $50 million anyway faggot

  • @geordies4990

Oh so close. You ALMOST redeemed yourself. Look, bro, I don't mind that you hate it... that's fine... but the name calling and language shows your true age and maturity level. I take nothing you say to heart. Grow up!

  • @geordies4990 I know i would! Because im not a fucking director

  • @geordies4990 This is on youtube. What where you expecting Steven Spielberg? I think this is rather good for a bunch of guys. You don't see people complaining about Halo because it's not realistic do you? No. Keep your nasty comments too yourself.

  • @geordies4990

hey honestly bro these pulled off a video that i honestly would like to attempt, the kit is accurate the rifles are accurate same with the battle dress and tunic and boot with the gaiters also the helmets are accurate too the story line is good the the retrieving of the bolt action in the LEE-Enfield is damn close so i would like to see ou pull this shit off enough said stop ragging on these guys they something to pay a tribute to our vets that serve on June 6th 1944

  • Man wtf, this is actually good shit, we need more Canadian war movies.

  • Man...why does every war movie death involve a dude dropping something dramatically from his hand...

  • @bnzaiboy

Maybe it happened quite a bit. I don't know... all that I do know is that the story I tried to tell was loosely based on a true story.

  • @bnzaiboy Because when we die, we naturally drop things if we're holding them.

  • film is a little greasy, but i love the uniforms.

  • Look in the back ground at 3:14 and there a cars driving along a road.

  • @tutts999

Which was going to be digitally removed if we finished the film.

  • The acting isn't the best I've ever seen really. That, and what's up whit that big explosion at around 3:42? Biggest one in the clip, but still the camera didn't shake. Don't get me wrong, I understand that it was a fake explosion, but it would be more realistic if the camera had shaked as hell.

    Otherwise it looks promising!

  • this is super cheesey, i'm sorry

  • Good Job guys!

  • hi

how did you do the exsplosions and get the costumes from?

  • @1Filmproducer

Please read the info below the video window for instructions on how to create the explosions. The costumes were provided by the re-enactors.

  • the sound is from saving privite ryan

  • @bogy326

Genius!!! Did you figure that out all by yourself?

  • @tonyndbutt

    What!!! you think your funny!

its maybe a lot of fun making fun with your friends but its al the same, aiming that, aiming that, and aiming that! BORING!!!

  • @bogy326

No, not funny... just point out the fact that you are a retard. If you took the time to read the info just below the video window you would have seen the following. THIS CLIP FEATURES A TEMP AUDIO TRACK WITH SOUND EFFECTS FROM RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, FORREST GUMP and SAVING PRIVATE RYAN! YES, YOU CAN HEAR CAPTAIN MILLER YELL "GET OVER THE SIDE!" So while you thought you were being smart you weren't saying anything new. Thanks for nothing jack-ass!

  • @tonyndbutt :s srry

  • 2 days to take, and it doesnt even look real. they dont even aim

  • @dutchbhproduction

They don't aim? Who is they?

  • @tonyndbutt this video is full of soldiers and you dont even know who i mean ? that is really dumb

  • @dutchbhproduction

You know what's really dumb... the fact that you watched this with your eyes closed. I see soldiers aiming at 1:46 1:52 2:09 2:14 2:32, etc, etc, etc. I directed the following at PolishWingedHussar10 a few months ago and I think it applies to you too... you sir are a dumb ass!

  • @tonyndbutt thats not aim. thats look shoot look shoot look shoot look shoot.. thats pretending ur aim

  • @dutchbhproduction

Please refer to the last sentence from my last post.

  • British people don't really give a shit about cricket nd we don't fukin talk like that! I fukin h8 our stereotypical accent! But film was excellent! Guys thankyou 4 making a decent film rather than a shitty film made by 5 year olds who don't know how to use a camera! Well done!

  • @LittleDommWoody55

Just to let you know that the actor that played the British soldier WAS British. That's his REAL accent and he is the one that came up with the cricket line.

  • not british helments

  • @zmon49

Congratulations... and do you know why?

  • The Guy @ 1:17 is wearing SAS wings ???

  • Ok this is a briliant film its accurate as the paras and any outfit would be mostly made up of 18-20 yr olds. However that kid who gets blown up and shot. A direct hit from a mortar would tear someone apart and to survive that and then get shot in the heart D:

  • Hahaha sometimes these utube comments are so funny....a Polish guy who nevertheless, lives in UK, swears at a British guy, for Brits making crap war movies....lolololol As if Bravo Two Zero, Deathwatch, Zulu, The Dam Busters, Sink the Bismarck, The Cruel Sea, The Colditz Story and a bucketload of others(let alone how many Brits directed and played in American funded movies) are all crap films...''So foony'' as a friend from Manchester used to say...lolol again & again...boy u made my day!

  • I wanted to write a full list of things that are extremly not real but I said to my self I won't because you guys realy tried and I can respect that.

  • Good movie, but a little too optimistic. I mean, guys in the open like this would have been killed waaaaaay faster than that I think. Even if they are crawling on the ground. But I guess that if they would have been all killed within 3 seconds, it would have been less dramatic/more boring and uninteresting.

  • ummm im gonna guess your from canada not great britain

  • @oahuboi63

    We have a winner!

  • @tonyndbutt wooh! i can read

  • fine acting guys very fine acting

  • lol at least it had a happy end

  • @happosai27 there are no happy endings in war sadly

  • in the end was the soundtrack from saving private ryan

  • this is good for what sounds like a pretty small budget, however the acting is quite bad. also, @ polishwingedhussar, monty python movies are the funniest movies ever made, it's total bs that british can't make movies. hot fuzz, shaun of the dead, 28 days later, they're all awesome.

  • Wow thats awesome guys!!!

  • WOW!! That was amazing is this homemade?

  • wow. that was amazing. Im 12 years old and i made a movie 2. Its nowere as good as urs but u should cheek it out. type in dogVScat100 and it will come up post a comment and tell me what u think of it. Thanks

  • War is War !

  • This is pretty cool, I did find it a little amusing at the end when the man with the Sten tried to twich his hand so thepocket watch would fall out. Over all this is very good. Extreamyly realistic explostions too.

  • good job!

  • this is probally one of the best war movies i hace ever saw and did you make the mortar explosion

  • what did u do for explosives?

  • This is very good, I like it.

  • AWESOME ! ;O)

  • yeah lee enfields!

  • lol, this is a really really really really really small version of band of brothers

  • a german youngster group had been castegated for reenacting a hitler-youth action in an german forest few years ago. they made their uniforms themself and used playguns as weapons.

  • great movie guys...i would have used blanks for the guns tho....but other that that great movie..love the bombs

  • @hound12314

    We did use blanks!
