  • muy interesante

    muy buenas tecnicas

    gracias

  • dont buy this video. too expensive for a home shot video, short, bad audio and even worse angles for filming

  • incredible! I was exposed to some silat threw my JKD training, devastating art! thanks for posting

  • I put I like your videos always :)

  • Dear Peter,

I understand you have throw in some safety measures, Peter, I have no doubt that you are a great Silat fighter. I am pointing to adding enough resistance to exemplify the true nature of Silat's tenacity, I can do this without breaking arms and necks or killing students. However, I still say your demos are great! I am certainly not intending disrespect, just caring to add a suggestion. I am a few decades into field of Combatives, and we have had no deaths in our demos, take care

  • Great music too :)

  • Aoudzoubilahi minas shaytan nir rajeem, Bismillah, Who are blind and deaf to mysticism in the arts... will be so in this life...the hereafter is the realm of the spirit...,no misunderstanding there... who are deaf and blind here will be raised up the same there... who says mysticism only complicates the arts... lack spiritual insight and are blind with no inward cultivation... the real power behind truth is spiritual, without that, the toxic ego guides astray, religion is just good advice...

  • Salaam Alaikum, as a teacher of silat I would like to share that silat is an art of impeccable speed it must be slowed down for people to see it, but true silat will never be seen on the web... for all you would see is a blurr, how can you defend against what you cannot see... any technique is only as good as the prayer of the person doing it... so the path must be one of heart purification/ walking with God Almighty for only by God is combat won, there is no other defense, this power is rare

  • Who is Almighty God to you?

  • @Shihabudeen7 you sir are intoxicated by religion. please comment when you are sober and show respect to those who come to this video to know silat. dont get me wrong, i respect your religion, but you are adding counfusion to an art that is super simple(silat).

  • I have to comment. This is all nice and a good demo, but lets be honest. His demonstration partner is compliant and offers no resistance (partly from respect, partly due to conditioning) this is what concerns MMA people. It isn't that it can't work but how it is demostrated. You silat people ( I have studied Silat too) can just as easliy work on submissions...add some resistance..it will improve the work, make demos more believable, and gain more rerspect from those that see the flaws. IMHO

  • @combatives how do you add resistance training to an art that has primary objective is to kill? even if you do that, it will dilute the art. silat is to kill .period. there are no submissions in silat, locks end up dislocating limbs & if it is done at the neck it will endup as choke or neckcrank. any senario will always ends up the silat man going for the kill. its origins dictate this.

  • Monkey Style. I like it

  • Great Demo, this stuff is amazing!

  • It's funny to me when MMA people say silat doesn't work. They're just fine with the setups for a lot of these techniques, and they'll use them as locks, but then all of a sudden when you go for the break, it becomes silat, and silat supposedly doesn't work. How does that work? Maybe it doesn't work with beach balls on your hands, in the cage, with lots of rules about not breaking hyperextended elbows.

  • exactly.

  • i an amature mma fighter but my bacground is kali and wingchun and muay thai n bjj and silat but i love silat and i use their locks and they work in fact bjj guys dont know how to defend against a lot of the silat stuff i do so i would encourage fighters and to martial artists alike to check out and add some silat to your arsenal and you just cant use joint locks in mma i know it sucks

  • The slow-motion is truly a great aid in seeing the technique carried out! Good Stuff! Thanks!!
