Elvis was a friend of mine, and I lived in the Humes projects three doors down from his family. 1955 he and I replaced a battery and a water pump on a 1947 cranbrook Plymouth, and we shared it! It was that car he used to drive over to Crown electric to start his route, and one day after we left Swabs soda fountain in Beele st, we went over to Union ave to visit Sun recording, He was wanting to take advantage of the #1 gimmic in Memphis at the time, make a record for $4 on the spot! acetate
