This is the real deal, kids. Good music made by people that are good at creating originally progressive music. The harpist is badass, and Florence sounds really controlled and purposeful. I can tell they didn't need a lot of takes to get her vocals down for the record If you listen hard you can hear the hints of her sensitivity between her aching bellows of some truly haunting lyrics.

One thing I can detract from this song is that I feel disappointed when I watch a live performance of a song and it just doesn't quite reach the same level as the recorded version. I think bands shouldn't throw in computer-generated sounds and instruments to a song just because they can. They ought to be able to play live what they put on their CD's. But I do believe in having live performances that differ slightly from the recording, so long as it's not bringing it down. Still a decent song.

I think that Florence is one of the hottest talents of recent years and although I love her music and think she has a very unique sound & a distinctive voice, I would love to hear her if she had some singing lessons, to widen her range, strengthen her core and add different colours to her voice... for pop music you can get away with a limited sound, thanks to imaginative producing and autotuning, but I think her voice would develop with proper coaching. Still love her though!
