I love fishing for pickerel!! I actually hooked into one that was about 2.5 ft + in length off of a small sunfish. I was in a small kayak and i wasn't prepared for that guy, so I couldn't get it into the kayak.
@MrBassturbater Yeah they are fun to catch! I have only caught a couple this year.. last year I caught around 10-12... I mainly catch them on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits for some reason... I have only caught one on any other bait
@MRbassmasterman ya spinnerbaits work good but if ur in clear water u can catch em on anythin. i get most of mine on senkos. biggest i got wa around 6 pnd 3 oz giant
@MRbassmasterman wow !!! thats small you sould come to scotland like 6 under is a baby one of my friends got a 27lber (the one day i wasnt there with a camera DAMN) and we met a guy that got a 32lber up north it was like 6 ft long still fun catching the little ones though they go crazy when you hook them
nice catch, we call them jack fish where im from. they strike most of the same stuff bass strike, spinners, senkos, tubes, i've even had one on a frog. its a big suprise when you think you have a big bass hooked and it turns out to be a 3 pound pickerel with huge teeth
@Bassintheweeds Lol it shouldn't be hard. I catch one 90% of my trips to Lake O' The Pines its the biggest lake within like 30 miles of me. I want to catch a smallmouth bass and I want to catch a bass in the snow and I want to kill a deer in the snow. Lol I already rode my dirtbike in the snow I went over a frozen ramp at an angle and slid off to the side and busted my A. But ya u should come to Tx we have awesome fishing down here

What the hell's a Pickerel?
690169 3 months ago
@690169 Its just like a pike but they can survive in southern bodies of water.. They act just like a bass.. Pretty aggressive too.
