These are Sarplaninac dogs from mountain Sara in Serbia and Macedonia. This recording is from Macedonia. It's easier to pronounce it: Sharplaninats. In my personal experience this dog can be very loving family pet, but in 15 years, I had Sarplaninac, there were two occasions when I was afraid what will happen. On both occasions my Sarplaninac was provoked and started tearing his fence and got out in few minutes. That's a story of there raw power and strength Sarplaninac posses.

I own some cattle and every year I breed a few new calfs, when the calfs are born once in a while we get a stray wolf come down from the mountains, it seems they cant resist the smell of placentas and new calfs. last year Rocky my 55 pound American Pit BullTerrier killed an 85 pound wolf in less than half hour 3 other wolfs where very lucky my two Great Danes where in their kennels. It's not legal for me to shoot them but legal for my pups to take care of them. Wolfs are canine rats.

Why did the videographer just stand there and film while the wolves were attacking the sheep, before the dogs showed up? If saving the sheep was so terribly important, he could have thrown rocks at them or something, or even gone in and kicked one of the wolves if he were brave. Wolves are typically shy and it's usually easy for people to scare them off. Somehow, this video feels a little staged.
