Are those getting heavy? They look pretty dense. These videos are pretty neat. I get to see the evolution of dreadlocks over a period of years! Excellent
Hey dude, just been lookin back at ur progress and comparing it to mine (im at 7ish months atm) basically im a bit behind in terms of long as i started with shorter hair. However my hair isnt really dread on my hair line like from the top of ears down to the bottom and back to the top of the other ear.. how can i speed it up? also my tips are super undreaded how can i speed up this also??
@fullysikmate2009 The tips are the last to lock up. Don't worry about that. Since you started with your hair shorter, just expect things to take a bit longer. Don't worry you'll get there. Just let nature take its course. If you want to speed up the process, rinsing your hair with salt water or just swimming in the ocean will help.
How did you start bro? did you begin it with back combing and then go neglect or did you start your dreads by neglect as in just never combing it? i have followed thru the years and your hair is just great...
Sorry folks....I know I keep telling you that I will be posting a video soon, and I have definitely been slacking. I guess that's how life does when everything else takes up one's time...that or I'm easily distracted. But seriously, I'll be posting soon...definitely before February. I wanted to get a new camera and I'm currently taking Digital Editing classes at the college here, so hopefully I can offer higher quality material. BUT, I wish Google would fix my account Revenue Sharing soon.
You should make another video!!!! i just started my neglect dreads earlier this week i use a baking soda and vinegar wash/rinse with 2 table spoons of sea salt :D and some lemon juice xD and i am still jammin on my mandolin :D
@psynapsurfa yeah I've trimmed the ends. It doesn't hurt it, I just got bored one day and trimmed them...I'm OCD, so I ended up doing every one of them. ha
Your videos are great. I've watched all of them, because you give me a good laugh. I like the intro and my favorite dreadlock on your head is the tail. ^^
@MrPrinceOFpa. Anyone who makes comments saying stuff like you did has no life. Grow up and do something educational. I care a lot about my hair. Doesn't make me a faggot.
I LOVE your dreads! Any tips for a girl on starting with dreading? I'm interested in doing that to my hair, and I'll be working at a Kroger too! Sweeets!
here is a good strategy to anybody who has people constantly coming up to them and saying nasty shit to u. just say the simple word(s) thanks or thank you. that really irritates them and you arent that angry after words and infact u get a smile out of it. so just say thanks to anything negative people have to say about u. it atleast works for me.
@VideoLalafyied yeah but it doesn't always turn out like you reallly want it in the end....You may be right, but naturally is how I wanted to take. I can usually tell when someone has naturally formed locks or backcombed....
@eyeheartchrist exactly, and it believe it costs about $800 and between 4-8 hours of labor. i also hear wax is very bad for u and is the #1 cause of dreads getting cut. so why spend $800 for something that they will screw up instead of something free and requires little to no maintenance. and they are going to be unique so others will turn out differently.
@VideoLalafyied Instant dreads look terrible not to mention how they basically mess up your hair. They're meant to be a journey rather than a fashion statement.
@VideoLalafyied nooo...that's a terrible idea. Most people that do that don't keep them very long because it doesn't "turn out like they wanted them to be," or they weren't really into it like they thought...Naturally forming locks sustain much longer than abusing it into locks...since a majority of people tend to overdo the backcombing, which in turn causes damage; it gives the hair time to adjust itself into locks.
hey man i workout at least 5 times a week so my hair gets sweaty and i wash my hair a lot, i use prell and i dont comb my hair, i started my dreadlock journey 2 days ago and im just asking for some advice, do you think if i wash it too much it will slow down the locking process? my hair is straight and thick
@jmd92087 Depends where you live, and the sort of jobs you are applying for. I've worked at Target and currently work at Kroger, and nobody has told me I should cut it. The only exception is I'm required to wear a hair net or hat around food service areas.
Hey i decided i want dreads on tuesday lol n im doen the neglect method all the way i was wondering about neutragina anti residue shampoo n if it works n wat shampoo did u use wen u first started ur dreads im excited for my journey n i wanna do it the right way
@812xCrew As long as the shampoo rinses out good, you should be fine. I've been using Selson Blue for scalp related issues, and sometimes other various shampoos I've bought here and there.
heeeey dooood. please tell mee what is the shampoo you are using and what is your favorite one to use???and where to gets it. thanks dude, ive been watchin fo four years!
@bay4rl dont stress the shampoo so much. he uses dr bronners castile soaps though i think. Just wash it with something to keep the scalp clean and not oily and dont comb it. Give it a couple of months and you'll notice knots.
@planesoverlames just after hearing this, there were already melodic ideas happening, but this video was 100% improvised, even the flute action! "ohhhh the burn is so deep!" love that part

was your hair curly or straight before you started? cause i made some nice dreads myself once (not naturally) but i have very asian and pretty straight hair, im afraid i would never be able to get natural dreads. there was a point in time for multiple months that i hadnt been combing my hair at all, but i had really long hair at the time. but now my hair is really short so i could try not combing and maybe when it gets longer it'll sorta grow into dreads..?
