I love this film, got it on blue ray at home, it's my most favorite

I like this movie. I love the fact that it isn't set in the medieval period like most king Arthur stories are. It is closer to the historical facts that are starting to come to light about the real Arthur. And I love the butt-kicking Guinevere.
This was the first King Arthur movie I've seen without the medieval setting and was based more on the historical facts that Arthur or Arturius was a British Roman officer...and Guinevere is not the Queen whose bored of her life in the castle but Guinevere who kicks ass...
@hildegarde07 the historical facts state that arthur was just a celtic warrior who gained great fame and in doing so instilled fear in his enemies... he was most likely from the th or 5th centuries ad which is post roman occupation of britain. also he according to most CELTIC tales was never a king as the celts didnt have kings thay had the druid class then the warrior class then everyone else. the druids were the leaders of the celts not the warriors in this movie merlin is a druid

lord of the ringsw can be ever so slightly compared to king arthur but you have to pick it apart peice by peice, the comparison would be the final battle as they stand against overwelming odds, the few stay behind to fight even though they cannot win the battle to give the people time to get away. almost like the black gate opening.
Good movie, and i have seen most movies about king authur, i did not like the one they made with sean connary, richard greer, that one sucked. But this movie was more about his beginning. I think this be more on the true accounts of the Authoring accounts.More Galic and Roman as it should be. Gueen was more like she would have been.
