The only reason paul potts was singing the UK anthem without the pride of most UK anthem performances (eg band and character etc) is because it was an american event.

It is est. the between 2 mil-18 mil Native Americans lived in communities each with its own culture of music, art, government, and economic systems, had lived in North America. These societies were as complex and in some cases more so than those that had existed in Europe. The Native Americans had no concept of "America". The concept of America has been evolving in a process of constant immigration with displacement of native peoples. The immigration has constantly causethe U.S, character to change to something that is unique onto itself. Your Anglo tribes did not have a concept "United Kingdom" when the Romans were on your island did they? The Romans did not "discover" England did they? Of course not! Your Anglo tribes were already there. Who discovered England?

Actually I speak an American form of English with adoptive words and syntax influenced by French sentence structure concerning the words "of" and "the" as well as certain word spellings such as "color" as opposed to "colour" for example. So American English, for a lack of a better term, has evolved something on to itself and I would say separate from British culture. This doesn't even begin to address regional forms or areas where English isn't even the dominant language in everyday life.

I teach History in the U.S specifically Early Modern and Modern European History as well as American History and I recently returned from Europe teaching a course in American Studies. Guess what, we have a very different cultural tradition that has developed over time from you Europeans/British that has come about because of our constant inflow of immigrants over the last 500 years. When one looks at that history of what would become of the US England has had very little to do with it. (cont.)

No spedzer is correct we had immigration even before a policy and there were the Spanish, Dutch and French on the North American continent long before you ever originaized a colony. The Puritians were fleeing England not ambassadors to America and when your king revoked the charters and tried direct rule over the British colonies you denied them the same representation because you didn't consider them to be "British" so therefore you did make you own subjects like foreigners.
