This motor is the original tb48 4.8 straight six petrol with most likely a 5.2 stroker, cams and a motec m800 computer with the obvious country sized turbo. It's not on blocks. They are pretty common here in Dubai.

No. it's turbo lag!

@adi47500 Its already under boost when the "lag" event happens. You can clearly hear the turbo's spun up and the engine is at or near full throttle. That part where it jumps is probably nitrous. The change is way too abrupt for turbo lag or a throttle stomp, and the engine sounds completely different.

@rotor13 Ive driven turbo cars, and Ive never had boost come in THAT quick after lag. Thats pretty much instantanious. Usually it comes in over a second or two while the turbo starts building boost. On top of that, you can hear the turbo spool up and begin building boost as he accelerates in the start vid.

I suppose anything is possible, but its not consistant with turbo lag.

@mysock351W i agree with what youre trying to say, as in they also put spray on top of a big turbo, but also consider that as far as a stroker kit, no head parts are readily available so custom would be the only way.

i'd assume that the instant jump can either be spray or the fact that a custom built head is on it.

even a built 2JZ will also give you that jump when the engine gets into its powerband with a big turbo which is around 5500-6500rpm revving all the way to 9k

people this is a highly modified tb 48 engine (aka nissan patorl 4800 vtc stock engine) not a freakin diesel or any rb bullshit .. i mean come one think whats faster an rb25 turbo (2.5 liter) or a tb 48 turbo (4.8 liter) . this car was modded for about 15,000 american dollars . im guessing he only added a huge turbo, intercooler, clutch,pistons, headers and other tinkers . u may ask how i know well i am from uae and i own a nissan patrol (not turbo yet) and this car is very popular here.

@Braskus I don't know if you've ever been to the UAE, but those guys know a thing or two about building engines. I can almost guarantee you that's the original 1FZ engine in this truck. UAE guys know their motors... don't believe me look up:

umm buddie it ovusaly ant standard other wise it wuldnt go past 6000rpm

the engines can go over 6000 rpm unless there stock. the reason behind this is because the standard engine is detuned down to around 175 hp to help prolong the life of the engine. its not rare to find a 1000+hp 4.8 Patrol in U.A.E as the engines as extreamly strong. in most cases the orginal block is still used. Its bluebrint is the Nissan Skyline RB30 engine. just alot bigger :) even with simple tuning mods its easy to get 400 to 600 hp from these cars with out turbos etc ..... :)

Tis Fairly simple if u no what ure doing. mods like the correct airbox, Freeflowing exhaust. I think most of these patrols are running 5 inch exhausts straight out the side behind the left front wheel. DOHC are a must as the standard pushrods are limited rpm wise. A motec ECU is used in these too. Also a turbo kit aint to expensive for these patrol's. most of these cars still run standard pistons and con rods but correct me if im wrong. its the sheer size of the engines allow all this to happen

well i dont know wat a zd30 engine is so throw it out and get urself a vtc 4.8 engine, change the difrantion put a gd japanese 1 and the gearbox ,tripple plate clutch,computer chip i recomend motec,t51r or t63 turbo kit,nos is optional and ofcourse change the headers and the filter,porting, pistonse......etc good luck
