  • - And now lets turn to Prince Charles for his opinion on Stephen Fry, Charles?

    - Hee haw !

    - Thanks Charles

  • Thumbs up if you think Stephen Fry should be on the last episode of 'House'.

  • I think Hugh is going through sort of an identity crisis. "Am I an american or a Brit"?

  • @punisherman1000 No, you interpretation means you can't separate him from House in your mind.

  • @punisherman1000 thats rather hard to say from someone who only sees a portion of his life, which is the acted portion he wishes to show you.

  • I love Laurie, but damn he makes a creepy looking woman XD

  • @Asherah26 Yeah he plays an American in that particular sketch.

  • It sounded like he changed accents there for a minute.

  • @Asherah26 Yeah seemed like an american one was creeping in :)

  • British humor... Eh.

    British violence... Fucking hilarious.

  • @booyalakasha1 It can be a bit intellectual and high brow for some people, indeed.

  • @booyalakasha1 At least we know how to spell "humour".

  • @marksoutof10 No need to labour into a disagreeable humour under such pretense. It behoves us to let not this slip of dialogue be fuelling a proper kerfuffle. Rather, let us reserve judgement and endeavour to manoeuvre towards developing a connexion.

  • @TheDashingRor I've never spelled "connection" as "connexion", though I have seenthat spelling. My ex-stepfather used to subscribe to the Reader's Digest (or still does; I wouldn't know; I haven't seen him since 1991), and for some reason "connexion" was their preferred spelling of the word, though I never saw it spelled that way in any other publication.

  • @marksoutof10 Yes, the Oxford informed me it was a bit out of use nowadays but I needed a good ending word. I've not read Reader's Digest, but something tells me I wouldn't be able to stomach it.

  • @marksoutof10 It's spelt that way in either the Hobbit or the Fellowship of the Ring- I'm certain it's one of the two but I can't quite remember which!

  • @tobysfig Interesting. I was told by my mother that she'd read one of Jane Austen's novels, in which the word "stopped" was printed as "stopt". I've never come across that one before.

  • I love how in America Hugh has kinda this ...well, sex symbol, and here he is still what he has been for like 25 years - him and Stephen, the whole nation's smart but hilariously silly uncles. <3

  • @antichrist65535 really? I have just lived in England for 2 years and I found the comedy here not terrible at all. In fact, some of them are hilarious. Just because you cannot appreciate the sense of humor here does not mean it is not good.

  • i am bi-polar too, and have a love-hate relationship to you Stephen

  • @antichrist65535 Yes, dudes pulling funny faces and saying Bush is a moron is much funnier and more creative. Sadly, we have to live with our shit comedy, while you enjoy the finest comical talents ever known to man, who beam with originality and wit. I am ever so envious.

  • @PK10dotdotdot I live in Australia, I don't like American comedy either. I'm just saying British comedy is fucking terrible.

  • @antichrist65535 what are you basing this on though? Tbh the only Australian comedy I've ever seen was Summer Heights High and that was brilliant. I think they showed a show about some tiny film making company which was utterly shite as well :S Different people have different tastes; one might be a vegeterian, somebody else might love processed meat, I tend not to tell either their foods are shit coz I like them in small doses. What sorta thing do you find funny then?

  • @antichrist65535 you don't like american comedy or british comedy? well, enjoy your 3 australian comedians then. or maybe you prefer german?

  • @dm9910 Just to start, I like British and American comedy. We have more than three comedians in Australia you ignorant fuck. So you enjoy your video games whilst I spend time with real people, women included. Enjoy it when you die a virgin you sad nerdy little gamer. Good God you're twenty three years old and you spend your time playing games, and then you brag about it in video?!

  • @speebyda step one: look at what you just wrote.

    step 2: stop contradicting yourself

    step 3: get life

  • He looks like House but is speaking in an English accept! Brain cannot process this...

  • @cantwhistleforshit Hugh Laurie was originally a british comic, absolutely hilarious :), look up jeeves and wooster. he's in that with Steven fry :D.

  • @ISN1P3DI ....wow. Seriously man, you just blew my mind. Totally serious here. I am flabbergasted.

  • what programme is this from?

  • But suddenly, prince Charles.

  • Hugh Laurie is damn sexy.

  • OK! who thought of Harry Potter at 1:05?

  • Comment removed

  • HOUSE.

  • Fry looks like Peter Serafinowicz in that first clip.

  • "Who pays 12 pounds for anything now?" The look of surprise at what he just said was great.

  • @Hungover52 its true though...

  • @Hungover52 XD LOL!

  • Suddenly a wild Prince Charles appears.

  • I love these 2 men so much

  • Comment removed

  • I love ABC (The Australian One) and BBC. :D

  • Love the four-second rant - it's almost like he's got multiple personality disorder xD

  • If you listen closely at about :31 - :35 when he says "who pays 12 pounds for anything now." and then gives the camera a pissed-off look, he actually breaks into his Gregory House, American accent. It spooky. Something tells me, after all these years playing House, the snarky pissed off part of his brain is permanently wired to make him speak American English.

  • @aptaylor75 i love that bit xD

  • @aptaylor75 I WAS WONDERING IF I WAS JUST IMAGINING THAT OR IT REALLY HAPPENED.

  • It's so amusing watching Hugh talk with a british accent :D

  • @Failyx

    For you maybe.

For us who's used to him in all his other works that started long before House we find him speaking American and being so cynical quite disturbing :D

  • @vovEmanations lol i totally agree...I'm from the US but I've been following him for years before House. When I saw him on House I was like "wait. what? But hey he pulls off the accent very well lol"

  • I like how they show Louis Potter smiling at the very end.

  • 'who pays twelve pounds for anything anymore?' *sigh* ah hugh :)

  • hugh saying things dont cost 12 pound anymore ...does he need to worry getting 1 million an episode on house ?!

  • <3

  • suddenly: prince charles

  • Prince Charles: Hee hagh~

Truer words have never been spoken.

  • Stephen Fry in Cuddy's chair NOW!

  • @keyblok Now that is a brilliant idea!!!!! Hugh Laurie once said in an interview that there were plans for Stephen to appear in the show as Gregory Houses older and even smarter brother. If they would make his character to also be involved in medicine and indeed suitable to fill Cuddys position, now that would be just golden, wouldn't it!!!!! I'm getting shivers just thinking that.

  • @kaljaadelfiineille are Hugh and Stephen still friends? because I read that they are not friends anymore and also stephen talked ironically for Hugh ...Is that true?

  • @vasia48 Where did you read that? So not true. Stephen held a going away party for Hugh less than 2 weeks ago because he was leaving London for L.A. to start playing House again. He also promoted Hugh's album on his twitter account. In interviews, Hugh has said that he and Stephen are still close friends, and that Stephen is a supportive and generous friend.

  • @cjhousegirl really? I didn't knew that lol but in an article on July Stephen was talking about people who made career after 30 and 40 and said "who is that guy from House? He had to wait until his late 40s...".....

  • @vasia48 I don't know the interview, but that scene is from Stephen's America documentary. He was at an improv comedy class in Chicago & was encouraging young comics not to give up hope for success despite whatever hardships may come their way. He then joked look at that House guy what's his name. It made his point. They knew who he was talking about & he didn't have to mention Hugh's name. International success came to Hugh only after age 40. He was using Hugh to prove a point. It was funny.

  • @cjhousegirl where did you read about the party? cause I search the web for news to see if they are still friends and I can't find anything about their relationship..neither for the party 2 weeks ago.....

  • @vasia48 Stephen tweeted he was hosting a goodbye dinner party for a friend & that same night he was seen having dinner w/Hugh at the Savoy. Hugh left for L.A the next day to shoot House (tons of pap photos of him at LAX) & Stephen left for South Africa (his twitter account). It all happened around July 16-18. Stephen's production company produced Hugh's Blues documentary - both the US & UK versions & Hugh thanks him on his album. The boys have a very private relationship.

  • the 12 pound comment was exactly how i felt today, but in euro's. (Ugh)

  • Why does Kiff from futurama say something at the end?

  • Hugh ''Certainly came prepared didnt you?''

Stephen ''I prefer to put it this way: certainly came prepared didnt i?''

  • Cm'on, look Drew Barrymore on Ellen 2009 and you'll see that even their mouths are curved in the same way!)))

  • Would you agree that Stephen Fry looks very alike to Drew Barrymore, or am I just going crazy???

  • @irinadz your just going crazy

  • @irinadz I would definitely agree

  • Next season of House is the last season for Hugh so if Stephen ever wants to make an appearance i hope he does it next season.

  • Chartered prostitute.

  • What is this clip from?

  • Great contribution from Prince Charles at the end there.

  • @snackajack117 he sounds best when he gets cut-off. (a tool and an idiot)

  • @snackajack117 He was playing Lewis Potter dying in a smiling accident.

  • What a beard. Dear oh dear. *giggle*

  • At the very end: "Duncan Construction".

  • I just love that moment when he angrily looks back at the camera after saying "who pays twelve pounds for anything now?"

  • HA! Prince Charles' face at the end was priceless...

  • 1:15 the prince!

  • omfg! he's british!

  • @TheOSullivanFactor An American show wants to cast a moody, socially-grating doctor who oozes sarcasm and distain from every pore and you thought an American actor could even get close to portraying this? It takes a Brit to hate absolutely everything as if loathing existence itself were a perfectly natural thing!

In the UK he would not be considered especially talented for his portrayal of Dr. House, but slammed by critics for being too "normal" :P

  • @FortisConscius That comment just reminded me of Bill Bailey's line "Being British, I crave disappointment". haha.

  • @FortisConscius Disdain. With a "d". Moron. ;)

  • @TheOSullivanFactor ... /facepalm

  • @AppleFlavoredCyanide

There's something about an act that is not quite violent, yet thoroughly degrading, abusive and arrogant. In real life though I have to say a facepalm might be countered. I'd never facepalm someone in real life that was bigger than me. BIG GAMBLE!! I'd play it safe and go for the eye poke. It gives you time to slip away. People say arguing on the internet is pointless. Rubbish!! The internet is a great leveler where Manuel the waiter kicks Mr Fawlty up the arse.

  • @outofslumber

I don't think you really understand the concept of "facepalm". You're not palming someone else's face, you are doing it to yourself to show the idiocy of something the other person just did/said.

  • @sherlockfan16

    Ah. OK

Im almost sure ive seen others use it the way I use and interpret it. Maybe I'm confusing facepalm and faceslap. But I wasn't aiming to be arrogant or abusive to anyone. I was just having a bit of banter and some fun. Thanks for clearing that up!!

  • Marry me Hugh. That look! "Nobody pays 12 pounds for anything anymore!"

  • 0:28 - that look.

  • @Maglobrog

    Wow..

    You're a fucking idiot.

  • @Maglobrog You are an idiot. First off, Hugh Laurie was acting long before Grant was; and therefore Laurie had the trait before Grant. Grant may have come to America before Laurie; but he doesn't hold a candle to Laurie.

  • what documentary is this clip from?

  • @DiarmaidGNR It's from a BBC documentary called 50 Not Out which was made in celebration of Stephen Fry's 50th. I think you can find it on youtube, last I checked.

  • @jayjaylawkanigget Thank you for the reply!

  • It looks like Laurie is having a startling realisation when he observes that nobody pays twelve pounds for anything now.

  • 1:13 "Neeeerrrrhhhh"

  • who pays £12 these days eh?!!!!?!

  • Laurie and Fry were one of the greatest comedy couples along with Smith & Jones and Hale & Pace. I still love all of them!

  • Good god, when did they make those old sketches, 1973?

  • what was this interview off of ???

  • aw why did they cut the vid!! would have loved to hear the prince's take on him, if any!

  • I could not say who of the two I like more: they are both so incredibly talented, versitale, intelligent and funny. I always had a thing for Hugh Laurie, but for Stephen Fry as well, only in a different, non-sexual way. I am a huge fan of Emma Thompson as well, so perhaps there was something in the water at Cambridge at the time;-).

  • 0:24 - 0:26 an almost real House moment

  • Comment removed

  • @Superfreak937 That's Prince Charles, not Philip.

This is a small excerpt from "50 not out" all about Fry; his friends comment on him (including Charles).

  • "Three pints of DAMN and a chaser of HELLBLAST!"

  • Who was the jug - eared buffoon at the end?

  • @shepshepshep a tax payers nightmare.

  • @shepshepshep The future king.

  • aww! I wanted to hear what old Big Ears had to say.

  • Just so everyone knows, Hugh Laurie is NOT putting on an British accent. He is British! For anyone who thinks what I'm telling you is blindingly obvious, then this message is not for you, it's for the people that think Hugh Laurie is American because of House.

  • :S Was the the prince of wales after that clip :|

  • 0:26 that look to the camera after he rants "who pays anything for 12 pounds now" hahaha that's the Laurie we love

  • Best thing about this clip -- it cuts off with about one second of some much lesser-important English man!

  • He really adores and loves this man. And with good reason. He is utterly genius, sensitive, kind and funny. If he was my friend I would treasure him and be the best friend possible. In a way I am in love with his mind!!! And proud of this fact!

  • "chartered prostitute ...... died 2 years ago in smiling accident." Brilliant - how do think of stuff like that? Hate to see Hugh in "House" - utterly sickening.

  • @Gruntol5 GASP! HUGH LAURIES BRILLIANT AS HOUSE!

  • 'There am I a matter of two feet away getting to see him be funny and there's no greater pleasure than that.'

  • Fry will most definetly end up in House, they just can't not do it and although Hugh and Stephen apparently chat all the time around sets seeing them on screen would be so brilliant for those who know and those falling in love with Fry for the first time, I just want to know how they will weave him in, a past mentor? A terminally ill patient House knows? Exhilirating to speculate indeed :D

  • @RandyRedCactus The creator David Shore, has said he'd love Stephen to appear on House but he won't do it unless 'it's absolutely right.'

Personally I'd like if he played someone House didn't like. =P

  • Welsh Passport ...brilliant

  • it would be cr\Y IF fry was on house acompanied by MR DALLIARD!!!!

  • woop hereford

  • I want Stephen Fry to make an appearance on House

  • Me too... He was great in "Bones"

  • @Semp314 Everyone does. :)

  • @Semp314 All Fry and Laurie fans have been waiting for Stephen to be on teh show. I think they are just teasing us because Stephen has been to America a dozen times for Bones and other shows and he could have doen an episode of House. Hopefully that happens soon

  • @Semp314 Yeah that would be fantastic!

  • @Semp314 Hugh Laurie said the same, he wanted Stephen to play Mycroft to his Holmes when House is completely stuck but apparently the network wont have people on 2 series at the same time as he is already on Bones.

  • @Semp314 IIf Stephen Fry made an appearance on House everything wonderful that television is capable of achieving will have been achieved.

  • @Semp314 o.O oeoeoe, I like THAT!

  • @Semp314 here here!

  • @Semp314

I have been waiting on that ever since the show started and I do hope he does appear before it ends. Every time I see him in Bones I'm almost yelling at the screen, "Wrong show, Stephen! Wrong doctor!!"

  • @Semp314 I think everyone wants to see Stephen on House..it'd be awsome! The problem is how they are going to bring him in, they are waiting for the perfect senario. I think it would have been great to have Stephen as House's psychiatrist. I cant really imagen Steven as a case..but who knows the episodes are only getting better. so they might be able to pull it off.

  • @Semp314 As a doctor with two limps.

  • @Semp314 Yeah me too!!!

  • @Semp314 He says he really want's to and has been approached several times but just doesn't have the time. Personally I'd rather see him do 20 more series of QI.

  • @eifachoeppisCH I love QI but I wish Fry would start his own thing again, you know like A Bit of Fry and Laurie. I can't help feeling that old legends start presenting quiz shows when they intend to wind down and I really don't want that to happen. You know I was just thinking earlier how sad it will make me when Fry moves on. Imagine having no more Fry material ever again, that would be tragic.

  • @Semp314 That is a damn good idea! Perhaps an old rival or friend.

  • @curzmg "Perhaps an old rival or friend."

Hugh L has talked about this. He says that since House is loosely based on Sherlock Holmes (brilliant deductions from a man who has trouble relating to others), Fry has threatened to turn up as House's "Mycroft" - his cleverer brother, and with have two limps.

  • @queenastilon That would be brilliant, I haven't really seen many House interviews. It would be great if he could become House's Moriarty although that may be a little too long-winded; Mycroft would probably work better for a cameo. Although I'm not sure Americans would really get Fry's appearance but there must have been some Fry things on Masterpiece Theatre. Someone should start a petition.

  • @Semp314 He has.

  • @Semp314 What kind of bastard wouldn't?

  • @Semp314 YES!

  • @Semp314 *THUMB UP~!*

  • @Semp314 a billion thumbs up to that idea!!!

  • @Semp314 instead of Kaddy? =)

  • @ 0:28 - 12 pounds HAH! ... and that look...

  • It's called Californian sun.

  • Why is Hugh Laurie orange? Why do they think orange is a good colour for actors?

  • His pale British skin is no match for the harsh American sunlight.... Or some kind of camera lens issue.

  • It looks as though it was shot in a naturally dark setting, and they had some lighting problems. There is nothing worse than shooting indoors in a room with a window in the late afternoon.

  • hey @ 25 secs he slipped into his american accent albeit briefly

  • love the 0:24 to 0:29 look hehe that why i like his humor

  • That look made me really uncomfortable lol

  • What is the title of the last sketch?
