@NimbleTurtle13 sometimes i got the feeling, richter fights against the piano. and he always wins the fight. you might be right, that it's the audio quality in this case. please don't think, that i don't respect richter as one of the greatest pianists of all time. i can hear his greatness in every record, but i just don't like to listen to it, do you understand, what i mean?
@nanabush111 Wow! i know from experience that people who judge this or that as 'most excellent' have an inferiority complex. There is nothing to judge here. You will never aspire to a performance like that. Sviatoslav Richter was a Titan, one of the most outstanding pianists ever. So, the thing to do is to listen and appreciate quietly and humbly.
This the face of the most genial musician that ever existed (Bach, I mean). He has something "severe", but also something "indulgent", and even "hedonist".
Beautiful light clear contrapunctal leading of the voices, espec. on the heavy piano. After years of not hearing Bach on piano, I find its advantages and beauty, again. Thanks.
Dear truecript, thank you for this wonderful gift!Do you happen to have concerto for 2 pianos w. Vedernikov and Richter(BWV 1061 I think)? If so would love to hear it.Thankfully V.

i don't like it. he has such a hard style, i don't like Bach being played hard.
i think it does neither fit to Bach's music, nor to his person.

@llM5Xll What? He plays more gently than most pianists out there. The prelude is a bit "rough" but that could just be the audio quality.

me gusta más esta interpretación, es virtuosa pero no exagerada, a mi gusto tiene más sentimiento que muchas otras.
