  • I thought this was by Ace Frehley for the last 17 years. Boy is my face red! His version is virtually indistinguishable.

  • Just watched catch 44

  • they remind me a lil of cheap trick...sweet and cheap trick are both kickass

  • I once met Brian Connolly on a tube train in London, he was on his way to start proceedings again the Sun newspaper, sadly and although he wasnt too coherent he was a nice guy and we chatted about Sweet for about 20 mins before i had to get off at my stop, sadly he died a few weeks later. His inner demons finally resting. It wasnt cool to like sweet depending who you hung with, pity... big pity because they did do some good poppy stuff.

  • they were highly rated,so i cant understand that someone can say they were not.

  • Simply put Sweet rocks !!!!!

  • echt geil, da kommenn die erinnerungen von früher auf

  • Dazed & Confused movie great song!

  • One of my all time top ten songs, it never gets old!!!!

  • Awesome!

  • best of the 70,s,,,,sweet

  • for ever young

  • This and cherry bomb were two songs from dazed and confused I'd never heard before that totally blew my mind.

  • @berserker40258 That's the problem, there are 1000's of great songs you have never heard before. Keep looking around, there are more great songs that are forgotten than are known by most under 25

  • Listen to the album version its so much heavier

  • He's got such an awesome voice!!!!!

  • @MontyPython93 Sadly Brian Connolly died in 1997 buy yes he was one of the best.

  • i did not listen carefully...was this live of miming?

  • Gotta love the way the bass/keyboardist hands left the keyboard - very honest, that!

  • God bless punk rock from saving us from artificially-sweetened pop not to mention the bad hair/clothes of the mid-70's era.

  • @RebelSpiritof77 Not just this bunch of retards was it....MUD SLADE ALVIN STARDUST etal

  • @teddingtontcu two words, buddy...fuck off

  • Damn my dad had a cassette tape with this song on it... and during the long drives to the beach when I was little in Saudi Arabia he'd play it....

god that brings back some epic nostalgia...

I'm just sad to say I wasn't arong in 70's when it came out...

but 'eh good music never dies... so I'm just lucky I heard this awesome song

  • @BinLadenMustDie368 I hear yah, my grandfather played this song on his car radio back in 2006 when I was 3 on the way to Saudi Arabia and Canada when the Russians sold China vodka 2 keep their citizens stupid & not caring about Sharia Law during the earthquake of 1955 when Lady Ga Ga released this song in Iran with Osama & Obama producing as producers. If u listen closely u can hear Osama on the background vocals. He sings the high part while Obama reads him the Koran. It was a brave epic feat!

  • @ShitFromShinolla Is it mushroom season already?

  • Still the best band EVER

  • I really can feel the pain of wearing those clothes made of polyester or dacron.

  • This was when TOTP was good.

  • used to love this

  • There is no sound like this. It's as original as the Philadelphia Princesses ( the Three Degrees) and as original the voice of Grace Slick and Jackie Wilson. Perfect.

  • quality

  • Tak for den fede musik. Kenny Rander. Denmark.

  • is Brian singing live in this vid?

  • Sweet, along with Slade were my heroes. Sadly watching this, as with most bands still today need uppers and downers,

  • ive got every single record of this group they were the bollocks

  • connolly's voice in this song is a bit like the voice of Slade's great NODDY^^

  • They look just like Spinal Tap.

  • had this on 8 track

  • Love the memories this brings back

  • Their best song. For sure!

  • I can't find the original version of this.

  • @MasterDonny1 This is the original version!

  • @spikeman14 You gotta be kidding. I used to have a better version than this. But so far I can't it anywhere. Not on You Tube, Limewire, or anything yet. Well if this is the original version, it's not the best version.

  • @MasterDonny1 Im not kidding you, however I fully disagree, this IS the best version. Sure there have been some great covers, such as Girlschool who brought an 80's metal flair to the song, but none can touch this classic song!

  • @MasterDonny1 Of course this is the original and best version ever!!!!!!!

  • Sweet were great, pity they couldn't quite shake off that pop group image and become a proper rock band, but they came closer than most.

  • Sweet video and Song - ya get it .....

  • love this song!!!

    its my favorite dance song.

a friend of my can cover this song with his band!!(TONKA de feestband van het wilde zuiden).

  • lov this song''''''''

  • reminds me of slade

  • Really???

  • hahahaha at a minute roughly when the keys cut back in and the guy pretends to play it, then just moves his hands away and plays the air. For some reason I laughed so hard at that.

  • hair down to by bum platform shoes and ben sherman shirts..ah happy days

  • it wasnt all about looks back then

  • Comment removed

  • tourettes typing ....made me laugh anyway

  • what a band awsome and brians hair is fab

  • Blame drugs 4 what? An excellent preservative that 'Keif' and myself will readily attest!! REMEMBER REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS...

  • see what drugs have done with keith....always falling from everywere...palms...etc...hahaha

  • Fantastic stage presence - these guys had. I am in awe when I see their performances. A most unrated band who deserved more recognition.

  • @70s80sMusicFan . I agree Sweet were hugely undrer-rated

  • Steve Priests backing/fronting vocals are cool

  • I love the stage background so cool and great song! :)

  • The 70s dude. Androgeny was everywhere.

  • Brian Connolly was one of the best front men to ever front a Rock Band, awesome.

  • Brian Connolly's voice is so great here.

  • as two of the band are dead I bet they do

  • That is what you get for "Believing the hype"

Smoking drugs and alcohol will reduce your life expectancy.

    DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE...

Smoking will not make you look big hard cool or clever...

    It will kill you early.

    Drugs are for losers

  • Did Keith Richards tell you that while he was running circles around you?

Sweet is amazing! I got a kickass Sweet shirt from ebay. :)

Steve's singing sounds more intoxicatingly beautiful than usual this time. :)) <3

    Ahh. *melt*

  • einmal sweetFan-immer sweetFan...

  • awesome voice

  • what a great video!

  • What´do Stev'e priest says?

  • He say's "Foxy on the run!"

  • This is my absolute favorite song of the 1970's.

  • Great song, Andy´s cute

  • British Glam Forever! And no i'm not British i'm one of the few lucky Americans that digs this stuff.

  • STEVE PRIEST!

  • was he a priest ore what??:s:s

    are you serious

    great song

steve is not a priest crazy man

  • priest is his last name dumbass

  • used to wait all evening for this to come over the crackling airwaves of Radio Luxembourg...still get the feeling, still get the goose bumps... (and getting laid never entered my mind or my pants for that matter)...ha ha ! Rock On!!!

  • sweet!... dude! ... sweet! ...dude!..etc etc

  • i read this coment to my mum and she said that they had lower standards in those days.

  • I find these guys well sexy. I think men dressed this way are well sexy to women. And Sweet are fab. RIP Brian and Mick xXx

  • I agree. They are all gorgeous especially Brian. Love their clothes and make up, and their music, of course.

  • Well believe me we did get laid!!! My hair was long and blonde, like Brians, in fact its still long and blonde, not bad for 53.!! I was looking at peoples clothes the other day strangely enough. My partener and i both commented on how boring the young guys clothes are today... all dark and drab. I wore, and still do, bright colours I had over 100 shirts all different designs, from chinese characters, to girls in bikinis.. I thank God I was a teen in the 70's!!!!

  • More power to you brother. I was born in 62 so I missed the "getting laid" part till 78. But I did have my share of bell bottoms, poly shirts and platform shoes.

That being said I still feel bad for girls back then as I think we looked like Dorks, myself included.

Don't think the girls today have it any better, what with all the Goofy kids with their baggy britches and retarded hair cuts.

  • Well im 18 now and i love 70s and 80s glam. And so I dress that way,

Zebra jeans, long hair, the works.

I agree that todays clothes are dull.

  • Their harmonizing kinda hints at ELO...Great song...I was about 8 when this came out and it must be hard-wired to my memory !!

  • This is primo cheese - the tacky clothes augmented by the ridiculous hairstyles and the ultra-high pitched backing vocals. I remember being obsessed with this song in 5th grade during the limburger-laden '70s.

  • Always a favourite of mine! Ah, for the days when you could be considered a rocker! - in a pantsuit!

  • Blahh they all have such beautiful voices. =]]

I'm like dying here lol. I'm just especially in love with Steve's voice when he sings by himself. They all are just sooo amazing...its hard to think of the words to express them right so I'm just gonna stick with beautiful and amazing lol. Their harmony is just wow.<3Soo perfect.

    I love them all =]]<3.

Mick and Brian are gone but Sweet's music will live on forever<3

    Rock the world hard Sweet!♫

Sweet fans worldwide miss you both!

    We love you!

  • Could'nt agree more!!

  • lilguy1022 learn how to spell please. It's the Beatles not the Beetles and you're talking crap

  • The Who, Cream, Kinks, Fleetwood Mac (early),

Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Slade, Nazareth,

Uriah Heep, Mott the Hoople, Queen, ELO,

Sex Pistols, The Clash, Black Sabbath and so

    on.... All British.......

  • And T.Rex.... : )

  • the cure and david bowie too

  • How about the Rolling stones? They aren't a rock band?

    They too are from England.

  • Sweet sprinkled a lot of enjoyment on us poor beleaguered pre-credit mangled Brits in the, initially optimistic, early 70's, and throughout 3 day weeks and late 70's strikes. Then, suddenly, they were gone. Along with the 70's. Fitting really. But japes, crikes, what japes! They were great.

  • I remember well. All too fleeting. Thank god for You Tube!

  • Ahhh Steve Priest......*Rawr* :0)

  • This performance was repeated on uk gold in 1993 and because it had no stupid captions or stupid comments. that performance was shown twice in 1975 and sadly Brian and Mick have passed away for now!

  • who the lead singer?

    he's cute.

  • The lead singer is Brian Connolly, sadly he died in 1997 :( and the drummer Mick Tucker left us in 2002 :(

    R.I.P. Lads

  • steve's really got a voice on him!!! alot better then he sounds in ballroom blitz

  • oh!!! brings back such great childhood memories!!!!! xxxx

  • which one is steve priest i am not to familiar with this band i just strted listening to them

  • Hi Steve Priest is the guitarist who sings Foxy on the Run in the chorus he gets a close up.

  • o ok thanx

  • Its a bass guitar btw

  • very strong and nice song!

  • to bad it's layback...

    great song anyway

  • wow can't believe this song is on here. Nice post.

  • i think people were so thiny there because food was way more natural, more on the food back on those days was organic, now you have to pay extra if you want to eat "organic" food, why people are more fat today? i guess it's because all those hormones they give to the animals, the non-organic plant fertilizers and the mutant chikens from kfc, that's my point of view

  • Yeah, well go with that........

  • haha I love the movie comment at 1.42

  • People back then were so thinnnnnnn. What happened?

  • You know I was thinking the same thing..

  • lol the bassplayer could easily play alex in a clockwork orange.

  • Yeah, or Danny Partridge! They both were red-headed bass players from the early 70's. Steve's skin is so creamy white. Oh baby!

  • I love this song

  • I love this song great vocals from Brian and Steve's facial expressions are almost devil like.

  • Steve is one cute devil. ^_^

  • mensch die Sweet.

    Meine Tennienband.

Sind für mich immer noch das Größte.

Für meine Tochter snd es "Tokio Hotel.

Wie gut das es "Youtube" gibt.

Wer weis wie ich an Aufnahmen von den Sweet kommen kann, bitte anmailen

  • to mainzer60 i respect the fact u can speak in your own languange but whats the point of doing that cause nobody can read it and this is kinda america lol

  • Steve Priest actually looks evil when he's singing that line in the chorus. The demon bassist is what Steve is!

  • Hmmm 19 posts on this vid and you are over half of them.. may i ask why you are commenting so much?? Is it that you like to boast on how much you love sweet?? Well plz dont take up all the space on this vid....

  • Firstly vids on youtube don't have space, the amount of comments can go on for ages, and secondly most of my comments were from when i was talking with other youtubers on the topic of Sweet.

  • I realise there isn't a limited amount of space, but your comments seem to take up a lot of the page.. And you say you were talking with others about sweet, when you have 8 comments in a row, looks like your having more of a conversation with yourself than anyone else.

  • Well if you click on 'view comments' and see where i've commented and in response to who, you'll see it was actually a conversation. It was also one that ended 3 months ago, and until today i hadn't commented on it since then anyway.

  • I have clicked on view comments, that is obviously how i knew you posted 8 times in a row.. not in a conversation..but watevs..

  • Well, i'd like to know where here i have posted 8 times in a row. The most i can see that i've posted in a row here is 3, and that is because i had a lot to say to who i was speaking to.

  • click on view comments and it shows that you have commented 8 times in a row??? why cant you see it?

  • I have four original comments that weren't replies to other comments, and they were based on different things, all to do with Sweet. The most replies to a comment that i have put on this vid are the ones in response to spikeman14's comment up above, and there's only 3 of them. So i really haven't commented eight times in a row. And the video owner obviously doesn't have a problem with that, or he would have removed them.

  • Well from what i can see i see 8 posts but ok..

  • lol you guys are funny

  • I really am going to go and see Andy Scott's Sweet. He may be the only one from here in it, but he's an excellent musician, and so are the other guys he's got with him. Because of Brian and Mick's deaths, the closest thing to a reunion would be if the band had Andy and Steve Priest in it (judging by this video he could take over as singer!). If Steve rejoined, the band could be called Sweet again, as Andy wasn't a founding member (Frank Torpey was the original guitarist).

  • It's strange how the guitarists of this band write more than anyone else, Andy had more song credits than any other member. Mick Stewart was a ey writer before him as well. This band influenced the likes of Iron Maiden and Def Leppard! Leppard's version of Action is sweet!

  • RIP MICK THOMAS TUCKER

  • RIP BRIAN FRANCIS CONOLLY

  • My favourite member of this band has got to be Steve Priest.I have a small collection of memorabelia of The Sweet and i have Steve's autograph too.

  • Steve was great but why is he your personnal favourite? I don't have one, they're all excellent! He is the only surviving original member now except for original guitarist Frank Torpey. He should rejoin Sweet and give some meaning to the name! How can they continue without him?

  • That is incorrect...Steve priest is still alive and so is the guitarist andy scott, and who is frank torpey. hes not an orignal sweet member. The members are brain, mick, andy, and steve. and Andy and steve are still alive, steve lives in the US and andy scott is touring with his band "Andy Scott's Sweet"

  • Steve Priest is the only surviving original member that was in the classic line-up, because for your information, Sweet had two guitarists before Andy Scott joined. I never once mentioned that that either Andy or Steve were dead. The fact that Mick and Brian are dead and Frank and Steve are still alive makes the comment 'Steve Priest is the only surviving original member now except for original guitarist Frank Torpey' correct.

  • Their second guitarist was Mick Stewart. THEN they had Andy Scott. The band's first recordings were with Mick, so how anyone can say Andy was the original guitarist i don't know.

  • No, let me elaborate that last comment again. Anyone that calls themselves a Sweet fan and doesn't know how many guitarists there were in Sweet before Andy Scott doesn't know the history very well...at least not the early history.

  • One of my fav Sweet clips and the quality here is first rate, thanks a million for uploading this! I adore Brian's light blue outfit, suits him so well. I would love to know something really trivial: did he dye his hair or was it really that blond for real? His eyelashes certainly were incredibly fair...

As for the actual music, yeah, it's a great, pure rock song. I can't wait to hear the album version as I understand it is quite different to the actual single.

  • The album version is different.

As far as i know Brian was always blond, although his last name wasn't always Conolly. :)

  • My fav sweet track allong with Poppa Joe & Action.

  • love brian's outfit

  • Oooh! I love this song :)
