@OlivetCollegeCS Actually, I am very familiar with Asterisk and I did a lot of work with it before I started the blog. The reason I went for Twilio is because it is entirely cloud-based and I didn't need to mess around with having an Asterisk server or image running somewhere. I haven't checked in on Asterisk lately, but I am not sure whether it can do the SMS part of this. Twilio is cheap and easy enough for a hobbyist like me!
@madpuri Sorry I missed this comment!! :-) Feel free to use the concept however you like. I am thinking of trying it with the new BeagleBone which I have on order.
Curious but why twilio and not its open source cousin asterisk?
