does anyone know if this engine is inferance or non- interfeance .... busted timing belt =[ at idle hoping if it will live non- interfeance means the valves will not bash in to pistion i think its non- interfeance due to the markings on the pistion crown just need some one els to settle my nerves lol
@47is cheers mate 2.2 telstar 549k on the clock :D if it lives thu this its servived a drowning, fire ( funny story) and overheating the best little car i have ever owned shall buy another if this one dies
Out of curiousity im wondering about the mx6's. I have a chance to get one im wondering Are they Good car's Any Common Problem's that i should be aware of or things i should watch for?
I own a NA 89 manual tranny - these 2.2L motors have been really good to me. I've taken mine cross country several times. I don't race it so its not worth having a turbo that needs to be rebuilt every so many miles-my bro keeps a couple turbo 1st gens. My other advice:see if its been overheated, cracked head/blown head gasket, regular oil changes. these cars had good 5 speed manuals, with autos-check the fluid (full&red), stick to 1st gens - 88-92 (better motors). give it TLC - they"re 20yrs old
I love the scripture you quoted at the end. It maked me glad to know that people still give the glory to God. When you have that additude it is amazing the knowlege that God will give you.
Thats awesome, i need to fix mine up i have a 1990 mx6 turbo version, and need to replace some things, im having some trouble with some vacuum line right now, and its running rough.
dam looks complicated....i think i can do it though lolim be gettin nice turbo mx-6 here soon and first things first a tune up...oil spark plugs etc....and then replacing the head
I used new head bolts because I already had them in stock. I could have used re-used the old ones. ARP studs would be nice, but I don't need them for this car (not boosting). Thanks.
My thought is that with strange electrical problems like this check the ground. Make sure the battery ground has a clean, tight connection to the chassis. If a ground is weak, over amping different components is very easy to do and sometimes seems random in nature. Make sure your motor is grounded; check all the ground eyelets that they haven't loosened up or corroded over time. I'm sure a Mazda dealer or parts store would be happy to help you out with this problem too.
